Mac belongs to an IP related device, so the switch at the pop will have a Mac and your router or whatever device you plug into the ethernet will have a Mac.

Ah of course. The switch will have a Mac address for the management traffic but it's not relevant to the isp vlan...

Yea, something seems very fishy here. I noticed my internet was down last night for about 5 minutes, blue flashing light, it started working again. Neighbor had same issue and his just kept flashing until they came to swap the so called chip later the evening.

Our area also had no load shedding yet a lot of people were affected with this in the area which makes me think this is something else.
 
Definitely the sfp transceiver. Sounds like an upgrade that went wrong tbh

I think that is just the perception because there are fewer people on openserve here. Internet quality at peak times has been really bad for me and other people on openserve for weeks now. Would switch to vuma in heartbeat if possible.

I am with [MENTION=112343]vaya[/MENTION] on this. I have been on Vumatel since 2017 August, and only had a single issue right in the beginning to initially get on. Since then, haven't had a single outage. I personally will stay as far as possible away from Openserve fibre, specifically because I have a hatred towards IPC.

This is also similar to my experience with Vumatel, have been live with them since Feb 2017 and I had one issue about 2 weeks after going live, which was resolved remotely in around 15 mins. Other than that, my only outages have been planned maintenance occasionally (which have all been in the early hours of the morning).
 
Has any else noticed some interesting latency spikes on their Unifi Controller? (TT connect) Haven't picked up any browsing issues...

Average is usually 164... Haven't seen spikes like these since I got my current setup a few months ago...

This is to the default ping server on ubiquiti equipment.

Nope i have not had any issues with my USG, only time my ping has gone up was when i ran my line at 100% capacity for a download. Although every now and then i get these spikes of 1Gbps plus. YOu can see in the attached image. But yeah my latency on average is at 3ms othewise about 2ms of late
