I think that is just the perception because there are fewer people on openserve here. Internet quality at peak times has been really bad for me and other people on openserve for weeks now. Would switch to vuma in heartbeat if possible.

Wtf? Issues during Netflix time usually suggests network capacity issues, which Cool Ideas has never seemed to suffer from. That's bizarre.

Openserve does, though

We have been dealing with Openserve on this, unfortunately escalating seems to almost slow any query down. I should have some progress this week.

Thanks the speed is still awful, restarted the router twice and getting about 4 megs max, inconsistently.

PBCool. Perhaps you can help me as Bheki from your offices never got back to me on Friday.

Activated my account on Friday after installation was done. Getting in excess of 100mbps downloads, but only 78mbps uploads. Bheki said he would call me back about this, but did not.

Please see my speedtest done on Vuma portal. http://isp-handover.speedtestcustom.com/result/6ed70270-7268-11e8-b257-33193f682a24.

Seems like this is Vuma related. Would you guys be able to log with them? Or please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Sure do you get the same to other Speedtest servers in Cape Town, have you tried bypassing the router and tried more than one device?

Ok, my fibre is back up since yesterday morning - I had to take out the optic module from the CPE, and go exchange it at a Vumatel point at a shopping centre.

I really don't like the explanation for this. It is highly unlikely that *all* CPE devices would "blow" up in exactly the same way from a so called power surge from load shedding. Especially since a lot of us did not have any load shedding. The only explanation that I can come up with is that Vumatel made some kind of change (firmware, or at the "other end of the fibre line") that was incompatible with the optic module.

PBCool so how's it going with the MTN Cape Town peering? Another week gone by and nothing has changed.

Thanks for responding.

Tried various speedtests in Cape Town and Jhb. Same result. We tried bypassing the router as well but did not get a different result. I did however not try a different device. (Main PC wired directly to the CPE)
Do you think that the main PC could be an issue? Cant see how I can get full speed downloads and lower uploads.
I will try to plug in a laptop this evening and see what results I am getting if that could be an issue.

We are nearly there, but the Cape Town LNS sessions arent coming up so we are awaiting feedback from MTN.

Yeah let's try the other device and see, it's very unusual to get a fixed result that isn't the line speed itself.

See ticket #COOL-20180504-100091, It's all in the same ticket:

Thanks.

CISP must be the first isp in my 39 years that I had to beg for an invoice. In fact its probably the first place also I had to beg to change my service. How many times do I have to ask for this? This is a simple query where you said you will do something, but it seems you will do nothing instead, haven't done something or keep on forgetting to do something.

What should I do here?
Make another pm?
Make another post?

Hellopeter?

Drive to your offices?

I've really tried to handle this normally and just stay chillax, but now you need to tell me what is the best way to approach CISP to get professional service please.

Thank you.
