Which fibre network? We have lots of spare international capacity at all times.
Usually that's a sign the providers backhaul might be saturated. Log it and let me know the ticket number.Vuma trenched in Brackenfell.
International downloads struggling again tonight. This has been a recurring thing for me in the evenings since Friday, where my download speeds for international hovers around 10Mbps yet uploads are close to full line speed 100Mbps.
When I run the tests again during the day everything runs full speed. Getting a bit annoyed with this as it makes my streams buffer constantly in the evenings.
I’ll open a ticket tomorrow for further investigation but definitely seems like a capacity issue during peak times, what is odd is that it only affects downloads, uploads seem fine.
Speedtests are ok, just test to London servers rather and compare during the day so we can narrow down if it's a time based issue that we would need to take up with the provider.Same issue with me, trying to stream content from my seedbox hosted in the Netherlands and today in particular it is really struggling. I'm on sym 200 vuma aerial.

What does an MTR look like when this happens? Latency and packet loss to your first hop?I concur, PBCool, This is on MFN, this problem has reappeared and tonight it’s worse. International speed barely at 1Mbit
I cannot even open news24.com
Here is the support ticket, open since last week, Kyalami Hills area.

Do some speedtests to london, things seem back to normal now though. Usually around 8-10 in the evenings.

Hi PBCool
Would there be a reason why CISP CPT Vumatel clients in Tamboerskloof would be routing via JHB where as CISP CPT Octotel clients in Green point would be routing via cpt?
I.E.
My friend on Octotel CISP (Green Point Node).

Also what is the JHB CISP speedtest capacity, friend whats to try find a local 10G speedtest server?

Speed seems OK for international, you will seldom get full UP/DN speeds on international due to Latency and single thread, that is where download manger works so well, open about 10 threads and you should saturate your DN link most of the time on international, but speed depends heavily on latency the server you connecting too's performance and the routing international.
I am Cape Town Vuma Trenched and 1.1.1.1 is peering/routing locally.

Trace complete.
Strangest thing is that a few weeks back I was getting 1ms to 1.1.1.1 and now I am routing via JHB as far as I know.
Nothing on my side has changed in terms of my mikrotik config besides Firewall rules.
Compare my routing to yours, it is identical, it is local cpt, but I notice yours seems to show some heavy latency on the route.
We have a meeting with them next week, so hopefully get some progress out of them. But we do chase it daily.
