Don't know off hand but it's with their CTO, diagnosis and resolution I'm not sure how long it will take them. I am hoping for some feedback tomorrow.I really hope this congestion issue with Vumatel will get sorted soon, feel like no progress is being made atm.
PBCool any update on what is going on and when we can expect resolution?
So... do we have capacity issues on Vumatel in Cape Town yet again? If so, do we all need to log tickets, and is there some plan or timeline to fix this?
I was out of the country for three weeks, so not sure what happened. The machine running smokepings was not running, and I'm seeing higher latency and packet loss every night between 18:00 and 22:00.
I am in Durbanville, Vumatel trenched. The machine running the smokepings are wired to the router.

Hard to say what time is peak time on Vumatels network, but on Weekends anything from 5PM until around midnight sounds about right.
Are you referring to national traffic? There is no latency related issues on national at peak.PBCool, do CPT people route through 154.0.3.118 & 154.0.4.209 for joburg servers? Asking, as from what I see on MTR, these two might be the cause for poor latency during the peek.
Yeap seems to be the case, Durbanville and Brackenfell more specifically. It is with Vumatels CTO and as soon as I have any feedback I'll update.So... do we have capacity issues on Vumatel in Cape Town yet again? If so, do we all need to log tickets, and is there some plan or timeline to fix this?

We have engaged as mentioned previously, support is always via your ISP.So do I have to go directly to Vumatel or will CISP do that?

EDIT: Vumatel are commissioning additional capacity to Kendrige today where the congestion was happening, I will update once I have confirmation.

Ah great. One would of course hope that they monitor the Kenridge POP to be able to upgrade *before* congestion starts.
Yeah, I believe they had planned the upgrade in advance but reached capacity quicker than expected, either way just excuses unfortunately.
Out of interest, Am i correct in saying that Stellenberg and Surrounds go to Stellenberg High School? Because i think i am starting to see congestion around there during peak time... I start to buffer more and more recently as well as have a bit of packet loss. So just wondering out of interest.
Not sure, if they use the Kenridge POP then yes.
I haven't had it nearly as bad as the guys from Durbanville and co. Hence why i askedI'm sure Tinuva will remember better than i will, but i seem to recall they built something or other at Stellenberg much like Kenridge xD
