Please go with Vumatel TTConnect is nowhere near as good.Decided to go with Cool Ideas once my fibre's installed, looks like a pretty solid ISP.
I've got Vuma & TTConnect laying trenched fibre outside my home in Rynfield, Benoni.
While TTConnect is marginally cheaper, it appears that Vuma's the better option?
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated
Solution is for them to resolve the backhaul, which they charge ISPs for. They had a scheduled change for this past week but since the downtime is has been delayed. So will hopefully have further feedback next week on resolution. What’s the solution to it as it’s only with international traffic ? Do we need to complain more or are they in the process of upgrading it ?

Not completely sure of the impact, as soon as I know we will share it.Okay perfect at least its in the works. Thanks for that, would we expect a maintenance downtime again next week in the morning.

Did you place a order on the vuma portal yet?Vuma has just activated my line and installed the CPE, I had signed up with Cool Ideas a few weeks back, what is the procedure now?

Give it 15mins and if it doesn't come up let me know, also make sure you've ordered via your router and not directly into the CPE as it locks the mac of the device in activation.Yup, on shop.vumatel.co.za
Good Morning, I'm a new user and need some advice. I just cancelled my Home-Connect subscription. For the past 7 days I'm getting low bandwidth from international servers e.g. Germany, US. I complained to Home-Connect several times but nobody there gives a sh...The international download speed is constantly around 1 Mbps regardless of the time. The upload speed surprisingly is around 2 Mbps which is close to what I pay for. I'm on 20/2 Mbps Vumatel fibre line. My guess is that they throttle me although I'm not even a heavy user. I watch German TV in HD several times per day but not constantly. Plus Netflix US in the evening.
I read good reports on Cool Ideas and am considering to join them. How is there international bandwidth? Any throttling or restrictions? Thanks for your comments. Cheers LJ
P.S. I forgot to mention that local bandwidth is okay, close to 20 Mbps at all times.

GreatAll sorted! Many thank for all the help pbcool!
You will face the opposite problem with Coolideas. :crylaugh:
I found that well-seeded international torrents easy max my line, where I have to throttle it back down so I can do other things. Luckily the downloads are so quick its never an issue.
Been with them for a week. So far so good apart in terms of shaping and traffic, apart from a minor ping spike issue that started last night (wouldn't be at all noticeable unless you're a gamer like me). Gonna do a reset and see if it sorts it out, if not I'll log a ticket.
