So how did it go? Peak was about 75Mbps
Hi, Some of us MFN users have had speeds degradation on international during peak hours for the past 4 weeks.
Thanks PBCool for the update. Hoping this will resolve our issues.
Is CISP shaping torrents? I left the mega Formula 1 torrent (1978-2015) going overnight and uTorrent managed around 100MB. I checked the settings and nothing was out of place. That torrent is in countless seed boxes belonging to fervent F1 fans from Reddit.
Just got the torrent going in Premiumize.me (multihost/torrent/nzb http downloader) and it's busy caching the torrent at 120Mbps - a speed it reached in a few seconds.
Link me via PM... lemme test this
Thanks. PM'd you now.
Well, I'll soon be able to download it from Premiumize at least. But I suspect it will be a monster RAR file rather than individual ones. I only want some of the seasons.
This rampant data consumption (1.1TB), if it takes place, is on you Cool Ideas!![]()
Is very possible that your HDD was maxing out while trying to allocate space for the torrent, When that happens on very large torrents the download speed is horrific if not even non existent.
Try this: make sure that "Pre-allocate all files" is disabled, and that "diskio.sparse_files" in advanced settings is set to true.
I'm downloading on an SSD with 4GB RAM cache FWIW

I was downloading to a 8TB external media drive. Wasn't really concerned about pre-allocated space or whatever as it has over 50% still free.
No stress matey! Been well around the block with the likes of torrents and what not...
Right now i have 2 servers (1 in the netherlands and one at home) that do everything for me automatically at the moment xD
We don't shape torrents, do you think the torrent client supports TCP window scaling? Thanks. PM'd you now.

Did some testing and digging and DSTV now seems to source from DSTVs peer at NAP, https://www.peeringdb.com/net/13080 as well as Akamai, live stuff seems to come from Akamai and offline content their content peer.
So it's more specific to the stream you are watching.
