Morning Octotel/CISP 100/25 dead this morning. Still getting WAN IP but no internet. Northern Suburbs, Langeberg Glen.Is it just me or is there maybe a wider issue in the area.

Glad yours is so great, recently had it where Vuma installed fibre at another location never got it up then log a ticket with them and on saturday they do the trick like telkom and say its been resolved when the FX is still down, like this since last week wednesday

I notice your profile shows Location Johannesburg .... so maybe the Cape Town staff have better "attitude"!?
I was not expecting the line to be fixed by the soonest today, BUT less then 45min after placing the ticket they were at my door... for me that is unheard of ... amazing service levels! :)
Will it continue... I have no idea, was I an exception.... I have no idea.. I am just shook .... In a good way! :)

Looks like the latency issue is resolved.

I will monitor it and revert if the issue comes up again.

Fingers crossed that they can get my line to work at 25Mb.

Hi there. Well the internet seems to working, true test will be this evening. However www.fast.com is not working, and Netflix as well. Error message indicates not connected to internet.
This would be unrelated I imagine unless they limit MTU with the change.

Have a look at the notice page first, other than that log the fault.

Holly WOW!

Why do you need such speed?

That latency is so low. I did this now and get much higher latency:

I work from home, have multiple devices connected to the line and my work is of a nature that I handle very large data files, ranging between 150MB to just over 14GB in size.
So I need the speed to get the files up and down the servers as fast as possible, time = money, so the faster I can up and down files the faster I can turn around work and get more done in the same time.

Before fibre I was on a 20MB VDSL down and only 2MB up, I had to let files upload over night and then sometimes that was not even enough, needed days ....
Now I can fly thru my work and more time for myself also, not stuck waiting ...

Amazing bud :D

International gaming latency seems a bit funny recently, only in the evenings around 7-10 or so. Usually rock solid 152ms in Warcraft, was spiking to around 240ms last night with some rare spikes going higher.

Aware of any issues?

I notice the same on Vuma Aerial. I assume you're from the Western Cape, because the lowest latency I can get is around 173ms from Gauteng. In the evenings I've also noticed that it fluctuates.

MFN have done their network change so please report back to me those that have been battling.

Which areas were affected? Netflix streaming was poor for me recently, also posted about this a while ago. I'm in JHB north on MFN. Crossing fingers this change sorts my issue as well.

It should.

I ran a test and found it to be extreamly stable with no loss worth mentioning.

I have been having issues with my Plex cloud link because of this and hopping that tonight is smooth sailing.

The maintenance mentioned was for the following:

Emergency maintenance will take place on 8 Aug between 2:00am-4:00am. Areas affected are Carlswald and Midrand. Fibre to home service will be affected during this time.

But no one is really clear on which areas were affected.

Thank you so much for your help.

I am up and running now and as happy as can be.

I am in Midrand and whatever changes they made this morning has already helped the latency issue I was having.
