I have applied three times to Vumatel.

First time 3 years ago in Parkhurst which I think was their first rolled out suburb, amazing service, all installed within 2 weeks, Cool Ideas and flawless connection for like 2 years, then I moved out.

Going to a new place in Illovo, a week after I move, TT Connect (might be wrong and be another ISP with 2/3 letters in the name) says it's now connected with Vuma. They were actually just BSing and seeking signatures to get Vuma to connect the place. Vumatel started installing CPE somehow in every unit without the complex being connected to fibre. 18 months later, it's still nowhere near connected by Vuma or Openserve (who for 6 months was connected according to their map and every ISP's map but has never been).

Now new place, connected to Vuma (I've checked and seen the cable arrivals) and Vumatel has been playing dead since my application for almost 8 weeks.

I'm actually starting to consider if getting fibre even makes financial sense if the hassle is worth it as physically in the place almost only on week ends and the Cell C 200Go packages last me for months and is fine to watch Netflix (not playing online or needing anything bandwith intensive).

Worked well last night.

Had a 1 second buff on a 4K stream but will make some settings tweeks and see today.

I have also sent the information for the credit to the finance team: #COOL-20180806-131989

For some reason the system charged me the pro-rata for last month and the bill for this month and then as per the lady it had an issue and canceled the bill (After it was paid in full) and then generated a new bill for an amount thats more than the 25/25 line that went of today.

She said she will load it as a credit but as its a high amont I asked for it to be refunded to my account. Issue was logged on the 6/8/18
 
Just to give an update to PBCool, I have been seeing a lot more stable latency, since the weekend, in-game. Very rarely get any spikes in ping or packet drops.

Don't know what happened, but whatever, as long as it is more stable now. Using Vuma BTW.
 
Hey PBCOOL

I remember some time ago you mentioned that CISP will be getting its own NNTP News Server, any news on that yet?

I saw the same improvements until tonight but now latency is spiking like crazy!

They don't have a office in cape town, but they do have a point of presence here at NAP and CINX.
So your traffic is routed locally, and not to Johannesburg and back like some other ISP's.

so i have friend that there that got vumatel and shes looking for a isp the one she sigend up for was only for jhb
so as i have cool ideas here in jhb so just wanted to see what they offer in terms of 20 mbs

Why does this keep happening on Public Holidays.... Really this is frustrating! Can't watch anything, can't play anything....
