Feeling?yeah the experience today is not feeling great
Well do some tests what does an MTR look like?sluggish
even mybb seems to be struggling
What does an MTR look like? It will give us an indication of where the latency comes from. And this is over cable yes?Something is not right atm, heres a speedtest to paris:http://www.speedtest.net/result/7517774913
and here is what it should look like:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/7517774913
Iv noticed this same behaviour in the evenings on cisp for the past week or more and its not just to this server. Latency is higher to international according to speedtest and speeds are worse.
Heres another test i did again to the same server: http://www.speedtest.net/result/7538415369
Vumatel Trenched CPT, 200/200 line.

What's curious is traces from the Vumatel NNI to London look like this from the core:This is over cable.

One moment it will be 140ms from the first hop on london and the speed is fine, then another it will be 160ms + worse speeds.
What's curious is traces from the Vumatel NNI to London look like this from the core:
1 154.0.1.13 0% 200 0.3ms 0.3
2 154.0.4.158 0% 200 140.4ms 140.5
Whereas in your traces this is where the latency varies a bit.

That kind of variation is fine when the average is constant, are the evenings more sporadic? Its happening sporadically, i ran another mtr now and it was fine for the first 90 hops then the latency shot up again.

Have you done tests to London and not Paris? It may be something on the peering side or transit side overseas.Im not sure if its worse in the evening, will check tonight. This is the first time iv seen the latency and speeds like that in the day time.

Do you have a gigabit network?Any reason why I don't get full 100mb up and down, I get a consistent 94mb up and down, where I hear some people get over 100 up and down?
Do you have a gigabit network?
True I overlooked that, your first hop to your router should be constant 1ms. Might be worth trying to bypass your router and go directly into the CPE for some tests. But his average/worst is already high on hop1and2
From Loppas 's post:
9ms on the 1st hop, will change 141ms to 150ms on the London hop.Code:| 192.168.0.1 - 0 | 51 | 51 | 0 | 7 | 29 | 1 | | 155.93.243.1 - 0 | 51 | 51 | 1 | 9 | 80 | 1 | | 154.0.1.125 - 0 | 51 | 51 | 1 | 2 | 18 | 2 | | 154.0.1.13 - 0 | 51 | 51 | 1 | 1 | 10 | 3 | | 154.0.4.158 - 0 | 50 | 50 | 141 | 151 | 166 | 163 |
Is your internal network gigabit though? IE router and the rest of it.I have 100/100, Trenched, Vumatel
