Is your internal network gigabit though? IE router and the rest of it.
This. You won't see 100mbps throughput unless your underlying network can do more that 100mbps, because of network protocol overhead

Iv noticed this same behaviour in the evenings on cisp for the past week or more and its not just to this server. Latency is higher to international according to speedtest and speeds are worse.

Vumatel Trenched CPT, 200/200 line.

I have to agree, PBcool, instead of denying a problem I think you guys need to look into this. I've also had issues to be honest for over 2 months now with latency spikes that nobody resolved or really looked into. Everything will be fine and then I will have spikes in game Elder Scrolls Online to 400ms and today I am getting random disconnects and latency spikes to over 1000ms and then back down to 220ms for a while and so on and so on. Also, my wife is streaming a movie, it works fine and the stops completely and buffers on a 50MB line, common.... Clearly there is something wrong and I suspect pack loss. More than one person is saying there is something wrong - it is likely there is something wrong!

It's not so simple to say there is a problem, we monitor all endpoints of our network and if there is an issue on our side I will be upfront about it. If you are having specific issues we need to build technical data and work to resolve the issue, in this case it's more than likely the layer2 giving these issues. Which has happened many times before with Evotel. So running an MTR is the first thing, run it for a while to a local host and to an international host. Then from there we can do a packet loss test and raise it with Evotel.

Here is an example of an international speed test to France, 15 Meg speed on a 50 Meg connection, of course local is 50 Meg. And this is pretty much the best I've seen, most of the time it is around 10 Meg to London or Paris and never mind evenings when it drops down to 1 Meg or less....
What are the reason for testing to France? If I test to London I get 300+ Mbps and to that server in France 30Mbps.

Yes the router I got from Cool Ideas only support 10/100 on both LAN and WAN.

So you think if I get a router that support 10/100/1000 will help increase the internet speed...well to get the full 100/100 connection?

@ Cool Ideas, do you offer a Gigabit Router?

What is the point PBCool, your tech team installed a test router at my house to monitor the network, it made no difference and guess what because of Wifi issues I went back to my normal router and nobody noticed in 2 weeks, which means nobody was even monitoring anything - honestly I've run out of patience in getting this sorted.

9ms on the 1st hop, will change 141ms to 150ms on the London hop.

This is direct to the CPE, the latency on this path to london hop still jumps up by 20ms for a while (10-20 seconds) then it goes back to normal. Try running a ping test from your side.

Do you have a ticket number I can follow up on? Unfortunately these are the processes we need to follow to narrow down line issues.

Thanks can you PM me your IP and is it pingable? This looks like a line or CPE fault.

Hmm your might need some inspection. In this trace, hop 2 and 3 still jump to 2 and 5ms at worst, mine usually at 0.9 or 1.1 - Also Vumatel CPT/Bellville.
