So I shouldn't log a ticket (yet) on slow international bandwidth? Please do give us an update when your rerouting has been completed for me to test. Thanks.

It was complete just after my post :). SAT3 is back to normal as well

The only worrying part is that these "small issues with one of the cables" are becoming weekly problem now. In 2x months I have experienced these sort of issue 4-5 times already...Cool Ideas were/are offering good service and I see many people joining them so I hope we dont see another "afrihost" sinking ship when too many clients and not enough bandwidth and resources :)

Cheers

@PBCool , I dont understand it, I thought that my download/upload speeds and overall experience with streaming, downloading will be better with the 200/200 but it seems that the 200/200 package is optimised only for speedtest.net results so that we can "Show off", to be honest appart from the local speedtest.net I dont see any real difference. I tried uploading/downloading from my FTP servers in US and my speeds are like 5-10MB/s download and harly get 2MB/s upload... I have spent R 3000 + on gigabit network (routers, cables etc) but to be honest sometime my old wifi 10/10mbps 1:5 ratio connection was performing better than the 200/200 fibre with Cool Ideas.

Hear hear ... would love the see the answer to your question. Sitting in the same position this side, having spent quite a bit on a proper networking infrastructure for home use. See my test results posted above.

There isn't much more that we can do but carry the traffic to London and not limit it. From there the respective services and providers would manage the rest. If you were saturating your 100Mbps service at times then it's a good idea to upgrade, if you weren't then upgrading isn't going to improve the experience the traffic is all treated the same. We don't manipulate any form of traffic so to the speedtest servers or an ftp host it is treated the same.

On the cable issues we agree completely that it's rubbish so we are changing L2 provider to something more reliable. And the provider we are looking at should be the first on the Monet cable system.

Is it just me or has CISP support been declining a bit? At first, I would receive a reply within a few hours at most during office hours. Now? 2 days later... zip.

I suppose as a company grows, support is last to scale with growth.

I have the same suspicion, but will remain positive. Nothing as frustrating to not receive any response on open support cases logged (tick) as well as holding for 10+ minutes on the line when trying to call (tick) before someone takes my call ...

Yeah unfortunately there was an error on our CMS that has caused a massive spike in tickets and calls. We are currently scaling the support centre by 2 people per month. But these spikes we can't really plan around and having tons of people at idle when there aren't issues is a waste of money that affects the price of the product at the end of the day.

Hope that management is aware of how much business your participation on this forum has brought them.
I have just signed up for that very fact, and know quite a few others that are customers for the same reason. Kudos to them and yourself for giving CISP that human touch that makes the customers feel they can interact and at least not feel like that have no-where to turn. Can't say the same about some others ISP's.
Guess I'll be finding out how good the service is myself in a few days, but they need to know that regular forum participation is vital to their business model.

Anyone offline on CISP at the moment? (Since about 15mins ago)

Browse the CISP website, specifically https://www.cisp.co.za/about-us/
Look at who the founders are.
Then look at PBCools name again.

*whistles*

Edit: I dont think you get cooler than that :)

Yeah Vumatel aerial and Evotel outage in North riding it seems.

Thanks PBCool. Kudos to Greg at support line who assisted promptly.
