Just adjusted mine on account of your comment. What would you recommend? I had global connections at 200 and maximum number of connected peers per torrent at 50, was getting 4MB/s on requiem's test torrent. Changed to 500 and 200 respectively and now getting 20MB/s!! Upload slots I've left at 4 to prevent rampant upload rates...

I have a per-torrent limit of 500 and a global limit of 5000 (essentially this is unlimited since I rarely have more than one or two torrents going as part of a huge swarm anyway). Having the limit too high can cause problems with overflowing your router's NAT/port forwarding table, or your torrent client itself even, so you might have to fiddle a bit; if you're getting 20 MB/s now then it sounds like everything is fine, just keep it in mind as something to tweak in future if you have problems.

I will get my friend to do some tests on his side this evening.
In the meantime is there any way i can force twitch to route through ixp.joburg? I see that seems to be my fastest route to london.
Ping times are 20ms slower, however speeds seem fart superior.

Twitch doesn't have a local peer, are you also in Cape Town?

Yes, Cape Town on Vumatel Network

and yes i know there is no local peer :) the london hops ping wise are fine, throughput wise are horrific

Yes so I can route you via our London peer and JHB network, then carry it nationally, we have done this before. Will you PM me your IP?

Let me just VPN to my server and find out :) Currently at the office. Will PM in a moment

No it means there is something wrong as per my other post traffic routes the same. The only difference between 100Mbps and 200Mbps is done on the layer2 side not on our side. Do you know if your IP changed after the upgrade?

Yes the IP address did change.

Releasing DHCP/IP lease from Huawei E5186:

I have been trying to connect a new router to the fiber ONT. I currently have the Huawei E5186 connected to the ONT.

After some Google time, it appears that the DHCP/IP should be released before the new router can be connected.

For the life of me, I can't find that option in the Huawei E5186 settings?

Any suggestions?

I have tried to clone the MAC address onto the new router - no luck.

Edit: After much more searching it appears that the DHCP/IP needs to be released???

After some testing on twitch i have noticed something interesting, might be the route cause of the twitch issue (See what i did there? :P )

Well as you can see from my ingest test here: http://i.imgur.com/cljfDwJ.png

Milan and Lisbon have very good connections, London not so much.

So i did a trace to each of these three:
Milan - http://i.imgur.com/oxqnqLN.png
Lisbon - http://i.imgur.com/qrspte3.png
London - http://i.imgur.com/W8R9WK7.png

By process of elimination and the fact that London and Milan both have the same hop that Lisbon is missing it seems the issue lies at hop 5.11.10.99.

Still waiting to have my dns force through JHB so will do some more tests and traces once that happens :)

Yeap you would need to request this from our support dept, I have done this for you now, you can now plug in another device. And you have a CPE not ONT :)

Try your tests again in a few minutes.

The evening comes and I cannot get more than 20mbps speed to international servers on 200/200mbps package.. PBCool, this is frustrating, it feels like your network is oversaturated and not enough bandwidth and you are not providing a solution here, also i see that I am not the only one complaining. To US servers I get 8mbps speeds, wtf... that just shows that something is wrong...

Ahh man another isp that starts dissapointing... will I ever find a good ISP that will provide good service..i guess not. Time to look for another ISP that at will care to resolve problems.

We need to troubleshoot your specific issue. Getting those results are limited to your line, not network capacity. Can you test directly into the CPE. As see if you get an IP? At time of posting this London capacity is at 50%.
Please mail me on paul at cisp.co.za so I can assist.

You said that yesterday but nothing has been done? How do I test directly through the CPE? Plugin my laptop directly to the CPE? It doesnt work/ not opening any page not vumatel..

So I am watching The International on the dota2 YouTube channel. It's streaming at 1080p/60fps, no problem. It hasn't buffered once yet. Gave up on Twitch, it is buffering every 2 mins tonight.

These are the speeds I am geting with my router plugged in to the CPE wifi disabled and only my laptop plugged in through CAT 6 cable..

PBCool, can we agree that if there is an issue with Vumatel or CPE unit, then I wouldnt be getting full 200+mbps to local servers as well. Please see local speed tests are 100%... These speeds are like 10% of the actual line speed, not even 50%...

Please treat this matter as urgent as clearly there is a problem on your network... its not all about the speeds but overall stability...
With the 100/100 at least I was getting about 80-90mbps to international servers most of the time, but again even with that package lately I was experiencing issues...

I think you should be honest and tell us if there is a problem so that we can understand and wait until is resolved, otherwise hmm have to move on to something else.

If you are now getting packetloss on the link your international performance would be impaired and your local can be perfect. So it isn't that simple unfortunately.

I have added another IP so please try plug in via CPE again for me.

I dont get any connection when I plug in to the CPE? Is there anything that I have to do like set manual IP address, and if so what range?
