Well anything, try with London, Frankfurt, NY... I am on a 200mbps package. Spoke to Vumatel they say that everything is 100% and they monitored my line and reported that the issue is probably on the ISP as nothing wrong with the line... the usual blame the other thing... But again even if there was an issue on the line Cool Ideas should have get onto it and resolve it, been complaining on the forum for a week already and just getting told stories by PBCool.

Even local speeds are **** now... international max 20mbps... but mostly 5-10mbps. I cannot stream anything.

Yah, my speedtests are also not very good. Thing is, my downloads are pretty much perfect, whether its torrents or normal downloads. I max out my 200mb. So regardless of what the speedtest shows, as long as my downloads are reaching 200mb then I have no issue.

How is your speed to servers like London, NY, Frankfurt?

Not good, probably just like yours. But like I said, I'm still maxing out my downloads regardless if its torrents or HTTP. Streaming is perfect. I don't use twitch so I cant comment on that.

Speedtest to internation on 200Mbps line is a bad test IMHO.

Try something that will do much more data than a silly speedtest. For example what Looney says makes a lot more sense.

Well I am not judging out of speedtest.net at all, you probably just downloading of local servers, even downloading from international servers straight from HTTP I get about 1.5MB/s max... maximum I get 20mbps on any international server by doing a speedtest whilst local is 200mbps or full speed. I cannot stream anything without buffering every 2 minutes. During the day no problem with speeds.
This is 3rd-4th evening in a raw that after 6-7pm the speeds plummet and no one seems to care... as per PBCool thats normal for home internet service to get like 5%-10% of your line speeds (ffs he shouldnt of said that)... I guess thats only in South Africa... I wonder what their business package for R5000 per month provides. So dissapointed, been with them for 3x months , the first month was amazing then all of a sudden issue after issue, and the biggest problem is that they always pretend that there is no problem on their side...like Telkom. If someone from their support would of taken the feedback from us and at least try and do something about it would be worthwile to stick and wait until resolved but like this I am getting tired of e-mails and posting on forums and no one gives a damn.

Trust me I tried everything, speedtest.net just confirmed the bad experience... Lets put it this way, I can stream at 720p maximum on youtube at the moment as anything above just buffers...stats show connection of 4mbps. Then I tried downloading a file from international site or even my server in the US and it downloads with 512k... I went and plugged my laptop to the CPE so that I can filter out possibilities that my "Internal environment" is the issue but same speeds... Vumatel says all 100% on their end, which again local downloads seems fine so I agree with them, but international?

I am on the same account you are - what can't you stream? - let's compare our results to help CISP

Well try and do speed tests to international servers, london, ny, frankfurt, i am getting max 20mbps, most of them give me 5-8mbps. I am using an overseas TV service which I stream over internet and it continiously buffers after 6-7pm, the same with sny other streaming service even youtube struggles it buffers all the time.

On torrents max I got is 12MB/s on any i tried since i got the 200mbps line. It could be that the issue is related to the area I am in, or the line, but Cool ideas is not trying to find the issue and resolve and thats pissing me off...

Can understand your frustration. Does seem like they dropped the ball on this one. Usually they are very good and their support is better then most. I think all ISP's have their own sh#t, none are 100% perfect.

Just an example , downloading speed at the moment from a local server from ftp server. So you can judge.

Sorry to hear about your issues.

I am on the 100/10 uncapped package on vumatel and I just tested that same local ubuntu link you got the shoddy speed on.

My connection pegged at 11.9MB/s completely saturating on a single thread using Opera Browser. Got the same results with Chrome.

So I dont think it is coolideas specificly being the issue here but perhaps a combination of your area fiber and coolideas.

Do you have any alternative fiber account to test side by side during same hours just to be sure ?

Chrome native download manager is rubbish. Try idm. Plenty cracked versions around. Try it before buying it.

I agree with this 100%, can't believe I forgot about that. You need a proper download manager, either IDM for windows or Folx for Mac. Allows for multi-threaded downloads.

I would agree most of the time all browser download managers can do with massive improvements but I dont think this is the case here seeing that I am not showing these slow speeds to the same local mirror he used and using the same browser he used.
