So, Frogfoot just called me and said they see I have a ticket logged with CISP regarding slow international and wanted to explain to me that international bandwidth has many more hops, etc, and I shouldn't expect the same performance as local. I explained that having worked in IT infrastructure for the past 15 years I understand the basics of networking and don't expect the same performance as local. I do however expect to get more than 5% - 10% of my line speed to international.

Apparently they disagree and say 10% to international on a 100Mbps line is to be expected and they don't believe people get higher than this, they actually requested screenshots of people getting higher.

So, I give up. I find it shocking they have people who claim to be proficient in networking telling this to clients...

That is shocking. They haven't called me yet...Its pretty sad that we have to deal with that incompetence regarding this issue...
 
This wasn't directed at you :), am aware of your issue and it is still with Vumatel. When it's infrastructure related it doesn't get resolved overnight generally.

I wouldn't say it's fobbing off, Speedtest results on outbound with Windows to international are poor by default. I would love for Vumatel to just resolve their losses across all of their lines but it takes some time.
 
So my UDP traffic from the UK runs at the specified bandwidth, but when doing a TCP test at 80Mbps I get this from the UK...

I get the same . UDP and local runs at line speed but international struggles to reach 10%....

Will rerun and post my udp results when home

I emailed them the address and stated I'm doing this on behalf of someone - but got a generic response, so I don't think my email was even read

Nah that's not the case, unfortunately dealing directly with Frogfoot support this would be the kind of response.

So the difficulty is that we need the exact address to apply, as this is down to the particular provider for the building.
 
@PBCool know of any issues with Netflix? Everything seems fine but stuff stops playing with "we're having trouble playing this title right now" after 20 seconds or so
 
No, the house number wasn't needed. He came right with Vox. Who I oddly just left.
Sorry to hear that but the request was simply for the actual address, our connect team will request this by default as we have had multiple estates that have split providers within them.
 
@PBCool please can I get a response and some help to my pm from yesterday. I really don’t want to go the whole weekend with no international yet again. I can’t keep having my international speed go to nothing every other week for days at a time. Every post asking for isp recommendations is told cool ideas. Who do I even change to if other isps are worse than this?
