Are you streaming Twitch on your PC or via an android box? If on PC the alternate player for twitch browser plugin works wonders. I know one shouldn't be using additional tools to get something working, but hey, it does make a difference (as in let me stream in source).
On my Mi Box I can't stream Twitch in source consistently if I don't use my Vox fatpipe account. If I leave it on auto it gets the job done but the drop in quality does detract from the experience.
I just use my pc with my browser. I get my phone every now and then when twitch is not working to check to see if maybe its my pc thats the problem but my phone acts the same. I never really liked that player because it always made chat feel clunky and didn't allow for bttv emotes. I tried it back when I had ADSL.
I'm just so confused. Twitch is already back to working flawlessly. From about 10:15PM So its this small period between 8/9-10/11PM where I can't watch. Speedtest will tell me I have degraded throughput to london but from what I can tell from iperf results my throughput is fine. Speedtest also tells me that my local speed is perfect. So I doubt its my line.
I have a bud up in JHB, who like you also uses vox on ttconnect of all providers and when ttconnect actually manage to get his line to function he has 0 issues with twitch any time of the day. His connection to twitch is so consistent I use him to see if its me or twitch servers. So clearly its possible to have a good connection to twitch without extensions. Hell, I can stream twitch fine on source with low latency and with only a 2 second buffer, when its not between that window.
I don't think its a capacity issue or shaping from CISP as there would be way more people complaining but my local results tell me its not my line either so I have no idea what the issue is, none of this really makes sense. The whole situation does my head in.
