Cool Ideas Fibre ISP - Feedback

Everything is perfect at the moment . . . .but last night i counldn't even watch the Boks game - it constantly buffered, then at about 9PM everything was OK again.

Well as I said I watched all the games from 4pm till 11:30 last night, not one buffer or anything on DStv now
 
It really sucks that DSTV Now is so up and down. The one day it works perfectly the next it buffers constantly. I find that the sport channels are the worst especially when it is a big game.
The bok game was constantly buffering for me on 1080 and 720 had to drop it down to the medium setting to be able to watch the game without buffering.
Last weekend I had to drop the quality to low to be able to stream the Manchester derby. Even catchup buffers for me every now and then.
In contrast I can watch Netflix, youtube and showmax on 1080P without any buffering...

Which FLP ? And what package are you on ?
 
@PBCool this routing issues to brasil are just getting ridiculous now. It is @ the point where every second connection is normal and in between it is 370+ms. can we please get this sorted out as i am unable to play like this

Yeah would be an issue on DSTV side, their streaming platform can't handle the traffic during big games etc.

Yip I know it's DSTV's issue and nothing to do with my line or ISP, just wish they would invest more in their infrastructure.
But funnily enough Showmax works without any issue. Dunno I guess live TV streaming is a bit more complicated than normal streams.
 
I know this is a bit off-topic, but how much does DSTV Now cost and do you get all of the SS channels on it? My neighbour will only sign up for fibre if they can get sports through it.

Dstv now is a free add on to your normal dstv sub. You get some of your channels but not all... But you do get all the Supersport channels.
 
Good point, I didn't make that clear enough I think

"your" channels = the ones on your dstv package you pay for
 
No internet in van Riebeeck Park, Kempton Park.

Vuma says nothing wrong with line - Cool Ideas Support closed... (only been with them for 2 weeks and already the first issue - do other ISP's have call centres open on weekends?)
 
Also starting to regret this, constant degrading service on Octotel ... Can't even get DSTV now streaming.
