I am officially a client of CI so I am going to be hanging out here too.
Install happens on Friday. After that, guess 5-6 working days for it become active.

While I am still on Telkom LTE there is something I need to mention. When you folks have issues, it seems I am also having issues- I don't have the packet out of order issue, but the international bandwidth starvation, and the sudden ease-up at 10pm... hmm.. I experience that too.

To me it seems we have a capacity issue somewhere between ISP and undersea cable. Where have I seen that before..

Thought you were going with Vox? Never the less, welcome to Cool... :P

@PBCool Anything going on with international pings?
Seeing 170ms to 180ms in games like Path of Exile when it is normally 145ms to 150ms.

Jeez, I get 173ms to EU on a dodgy ADSL line. Hope that gets resolved before my fibre is live.

Do you have an MTR for me?

This used to show in the 145ms to 150ms range. I don't have an old mtr for comparison.
But in game it is now jumping between 160ms to 180ms+/- where as before it was solid between 145ms and 150ms.

I can’t wait till 7pm. Either PBCool will get a kiss or his head ripped off. Let’s see.

Don't know about you but packet loss has kicked in again, twitch is buffering quite a bit...

I don’t use Twitch but installed it to see how it performs... so far... perfect on my side. Not a single buffer.

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider

Fibre installation done by Octotel just now. In my excitement, forgot to ask for a B-number, and of course I wasn't given it by the technician. CISP support says they can't do anything without the B-number, and they couldn't assist at this time anyway because their people who do it have gone home. Sigh.

@PBCool - is there no way to find out this number out of office hours?

CI have sent a TP-Link C20 router to replace our TP-Link WR840.

Is it plug and play or does it need to be set-up? Will all the wireless devices connect automatically?

Everyone else has gone on holiday so scared to get too technical while I'm home alone :)

I've been trying to get a CI subscription via Vumatel for almost 10 days. Vumatel submitted all the required documents and selected package info to CI but when I logged in to CoolZone after the welcome e-mail, neither documents nor selected package was there. I said "Anyways" and moved on to order a service but when I enter my address, coverage map says "No fibre at your address". The catch is: I know there is. I'm connected to my neighbour's WiFi and writing this message on a Cool Ideas connection. Also the unit I live in had Cool Ideas fibre packages before (I've seen it on the screen of the guy from Vumatel when he visited me today). Since I can't select my address on "Let's get you connected" page on CoolZone, I can't proceed to buy/activate a subscription and that's simply a frustrating experience.

To summarize, I have an Object Number, a fully working Raycore device mounted on the wall, a router attached to it, the link is OK but can't select/subscribe to a package on CoolZone. @PBCool can you help me with that? I also have a ticket # if needed.

Thanks in advance,

Octotel do not have a B-Numbers. Openserve [Telkom Fibre] does.

Octotel will provision the ONT once the installation is complete, normally within 24 Hours.

Happy to report that as usual I have nothing but a perfect experience. Currently have a 4K Netflix stream (wife), 1x 1080p DStv Now stream (kid 1), 1x 1080p YouTube stream (kid 2) and a 1080p Twitch stream (me), as well as random browsing between the wife and I with no issue at all, and has been like this consistently since July.

Maybe Frogfoot is what makes the difference as they seem extremely reliable, who knows...

All I will say is CISP FTW in my experience.
