oh look, it is one of those people who re-edit the op to hide their initial OP:

Fiber fiber fiber! The number one ISP, bullshit. For over a month I have received shitty connection. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and left it alone for a while. Then it continued this way, then I submitted a ticket on their site via the client zone.

No response a couple days later, now I’m busy I don’t have time to run after a ISP and phone in and bitch to them.

I expect a response as these guys are voted number one? I mean what’s the point of the ticketing system if they do not respond? What if my internet was down? I called into the useless call center which has done absolutely nothing so far, and that made me decide to post a thread. I want to tarnish their name, why boast number one if I receive service like this???? PLEASE DONT FALL FOR THEIR CRAP.

Who can recommend a new ISP? Cool ideas is not for the best service or connection.


Watch the YouTube video, my internet buffers on YouTube, Netflix quality degrades to the lowest, things don’t load. They bill me for a 50mb line, yet I upgraded to a 100mb line. Their call center is utterly useless, waiting on the phone, debit orders don’t come off, just a bad experience. My speed test has not gotten above 40 in the passed month. Cable or WiFi, all their agents ask is please do speed test with cable please, after I stated that I use a cable all the time. My speed tests have been getting around 5-20mb in average.

My bad, thought you were referencing one of my earlier posts where I specified some of those RD links in the 2MB/s and not 2Mbit/s speed.

Back to your example take a look at what hops the vodacom connection goes through to reach that download vs the CISP(?) connection , my guess is that the vodacom routing is entirely different and for by some luck doesn't hit any constraint hop on its way to the host.

Morning All. Not sure if this is the right forum to post, but pulling all my hair this side. Currently on 200/200 CISP on Vuma Arial (Northriding area).

Two weeks ago my Unifi setup at home started giving issues. My USG3p didn't want to stay connected via PPPOE and I had massive packed losses. Tried everything (even blamed CISP ... sorry about that, but after connecting directly to ONT all seemed OK on their side) ... so I rebuilt (re-adopted) USG and all worked well for a week.

Yesterday afternoon same ... but with difference that Unifi USG3p does not at all want to make PPPOE connection to CISP ... I have tried everything (resetting, readopting, moving to different site etc). Woke up early this morning to startup old Netgear router and voila, all works via PPPOE (and now tied back to rest of Unifi setup ... but don't have USG, DPI etc etc).

Can any USG/Unifi users on CISP please share their USG configuration settings (i.e. MTU, hardware offloading settings etc. etc.) for me to compare and hopefully get USG up and running again?

This is my point.

It's not a RD issue, but an upstream issue.

@PBCool isn't it odd how consistent the results are? Surely there should be some fluctuations???

Good Day

We are having no call in getting from you call centre, we spoke to Ithumeleng, Alex, Basetsana and Faith and I have sent an email as well. ticket reference. The fibre is damaged at our place and still no feedback as to when it will be repaired.
 
I went for the R499 10/5 Coolideas/Openserve deal
It took some time to get the fiber cable into my house but Openserve finished their part 3 days ago.
I got the black Nokia box.
Yesterday I received a tp-link Archer C20 router and I already received a very basic how to PDF from Coolideas.
But no internet unfortunately
I logged into the router and it is set up for PPPoE/RussiaPPPoE..???
Looks to me that the router is not set up properly or not set up at all.
I have not got a reaction from support, I contacted them yesterday afternoon @5

Could't find any clues on the coolIdeas website, so her I am!

CI invoiced me from the 12th, is it normal to start paying before you are online?
