Which fibre network and area? That is one of our IP ranges.@PBCool - restarted my router yesterday and got assigned an odd IP (102.132.xxx.xxx) - not sure if this is normal? International felt slow, as did Netflix, so I did a speedtest:

You said it actually; as far as I know, no new installations are done by any providers after 15th december. If you have fibre already and want to tranfer ISP's, you might get lucky.I know a lot of people are on leave, but I haven't even heard from your team in ten days. You are at the mercy of the fibre providers I understand, but there is no interest from your team at all to do anything. No follow ups, no assistance, same generic email response when I did still get emails, nothing.
They get my vote as the best, since they proved they can tolerate and put up with my k@k attitude when I am displeased.On what metrics is Cool Ideas the best fibre provider, I'm assuming it's not support or ability to get issues resolved. 2 weeks and still no fibre.
Sorry @PBCool, you guys just don't try hard enough. I know a lot of people are on leave, but I haven't even heard from your team in ten days. My ADSL is being cut today, to make matters worse.
If Cool Ideas is rated the best then how crappy must the other ISPs be....damn.
@SAguy
I think you must go and have a holiday, I don't like how you accuse PBCool of not giving his/their best.
Maybe you are not following this thread, but he go out of his way to expedite and resolve issues, even on his leave earlier the year.
This is the time of the year everyone take a well deserved break, and who cancel the current service while the new one isn't up and running yet? Go and buy yourself a prepaid SIM and load data, and then you have internet.
It isn't CISP that is the problem in your case it is Openserve.
So do like the rest of SA or infact the world, and take a break.
I don't really have the time to do a thread read-up but, I can assure you, I am using CISP's network right now and there's no discernable issue.Not going to start an argument here, but unfortunately my experience with CISP just isn't as good as everyone else's.
They would do better to manage the expectations of their customers by just making a decision as a company that they will do no installations from x date in December, regardless of what the fibre providers are doing.
I've read a good few pages and can agree that PBCool does support and help where he can, but at the end of the day CISP has given no feedback in 10 days and they should rather communicate that they can't assist with new installations at all during this period.
Again, your experience has been different to mine...
Which fibre network did you apply for?On what metrics is Cool Ideas the best fibre provider, I'm assuming it's not support or ability to get issues resolved. 2 weeks and still no fibre.

This means it's a new range, the Geolocation resolves itself in time. Nothing relative to how the ranges work on the network. Is your latency to London still 140ms?Octotel, Southern Suburbs, Cape Town. I notice speedtest.net is defaulting to local servers in the Bloemfontein / Upington area as well, whereas before it would pick a Cape Town server - not sure if this relates?

I suspect this is more MTU related, obviously testing to Bloemfontein can give you unexpected results. As mentioned the Geolocation service updates over time.
