Also loaded within seconds on my Metrofibre 50/50 CoolIdeas account. Whereas www.ubnt.ccom never loads :( "ever"... Until I switch to Rain LTE and it loads instantly (using mikrotik and just change the distance to prefer my RAIN link...)
So we can all concur... my internet is stuffed.
I am getting no joy from the CISP ticket portal.

I find lately with my CISP account 100/50 on Open Serve that Youtube and Kodi is buffering. What the hell is going on. Is CISP over committed on their services?

That site loads a bit slow on my OS 100/50 too... takes about 16-20 seconds for all the images to load...

Here's a silly little site, that has extreme difficulty in loading on a CISP 100/25 line (Octotel)
https://www.idwpublishing.com/product-category/sonic-the-hedgehog/sonic-the-hedgehog-ongoing/
Not acceptable, its just simply not acceptable that the small images on that site load so slowly the page layout breaks.

Come 11:30pm and these issues magically disappear, until the next day, to return
This is like loadshedding, internet style.
that site loaded in less than 2 seconds for me.

Cape Town, Brackenfell, Vuma Trench, 200/200

Does anyone know why Udemy videos are sometimes so damn slow? All good my side except for the fact that even 480p Udemy videos are buffering on my 20/20 line...

No, the OS node/exhange you are connected to in your area is showing congestion.

I am on Cape Town, Brackenfell, Vuma Trenched CISP 200/200 and not issues what so ever.

I see I am not the only one having issues with Cool Ideas now. I moved from telkom and now I am not sure where else to go. Any recommendations?

If this carries on though next week I'll be asking for a partial refund for the useless internet in the evening. Gaming is an absolute no-go like this.

Thankfully my latencies are fine, and the majority of my services are working. Just weird that speedtests to the US and UK show < 5 megs up and down, and this is reflecting on some services such as Udemy...

So after @ArtyLoop mentioned going back to Telkom, it reminded me that Telkom STILL has not cancelled my line. However with the issues that Octotel are giving I decided to boot up the old router and do a comparision between Telkom and Octotel. Things I want you to bare in mind before looking at these results. Telkom is VDSL with a 20/2 package, it uses a different router to the one my Octotel line is connected to and it uses the Telkom ISP included PPPoe details so also Telkom's network. Tests were done 20min apart (sadly they time to complete) on the same PC. With that out of the way lets dive in.

Speedtests:

Well Telkom's old copper infrustructure is quite honestly kicking Octotel's butt here. Not much else to say really, results speak for themselves.

Interestingly even MTR's had quite some disparities.

Hmm Octotel seems to have a packet loss issue going on here and Telkom doesn't?

Sadly iPerfs failed to function on Telkom's copper so I can't provide you a comparison there but what I can tell you is that Telkom managed to stream twitch just fine in the 10 or so minutes I tried using it. Octotel on the other failed to even get 2 seconds without buffering just like every other night with them since October.

It looks to me like Octotel is getting the dreaded C word and so far refuses to fix it. Hope someone finds this useful.
