I do understand. But in this thread I’ve been reading many complaints from people that have backbone providers from Open Serve, Vumatel, Octotel etc and all have the same complaints as you have in the last couple of weeks. I am with Open Serve with the same issues. I’ve also seen multiple posts where people change as a test to a different ISP which resolves the issue. What is the common denominator here?

Cool Ideas!
There are those people who get lucky, but most who change ISP either end up with the same or worse...
I haven't got the budget to f**k around for decent internet anymore.
I am back at the office, at least the SEACOM leased fibre doesn't fail me there

CISP needs to pull their f*****g socks up. Their heads exploded when they won ISP of the year and they rode that train in all marketing they did. So the people came...in droves.

My feeling is CISP has gotten to big for their shoes(Network). They need to buy bigger shoes cause they about to trip over their own feet. Remember what happened to Afrihost a couple of years ago when they also got to big for their shoes. They thought they could see how long they could sustain operating like that by bullshting their customer until people abandoned them like they had the plague.

Unfortunately I disagree based on anecdotal info. Also bear in mind who works for them... TheRodent... that guy knows his stuff and doesn't mince his words about how crap SA's internet is.
Also they wouldn't go to all this effort to ask me to drop a monitoring device at my place, or crowdsource assistance like they have.

Well I just updated my ticket asking them to refund me at the end of the month for the 3 hours every evening where I cannot use my line as intended. Works out to R6.12 per 3 hours on my 200/200 line. Will see if they respond.

Updated quality graph for the past week (note this is packet loss to the first local hop, it is amplified greatly when connecting to international sites):

Good luck with that. I doubt you will succeed.

No harm in trying. I also don't mind trying a new ISP, all depends on how well CI support handle this ongoing issue.
There is a new ISP coming up...Websquad, and I am under the impression they refuse to offer any products on Octotel... so go figure..

I have worked through Hellopeter.com and I am seeing a pattern of people complain about poor ping and poor speeds.
This is not yesterday's instance, this has been coming since early 2018 at least.
I am also very concerned about the pull back from @PBCool.. I also suspect its because the guy is taking too much heat here.
I now accept I will need to get a new ADSL line, but I want closure from this.

Just my luck..I moved to cool ideas based on reputation beginning jan..my wife says I TOLD U SO..meaning we should have stayed with afrihost lol..although my buffering is more a irriation than a concern..it seems there may be something bigger happening...reason to be concerned?Or is it only if u on octotel?(im vuma)

I'm sure @PBCool will drop in soon enough. I really don't think ( or rather i hope ) the issues you guys have experienced are on the CISP side.

Its not about buffering.. we're friggen used to that. Its about accessing SIMPLE LITTLE WEBSITES that won't even load or serve blank pages.. that p1sses me off! Jesus, this isn't 1998 on 33.6k dialup, sure feels like I've been in the DeLorean and its 28 January 1998, also HOT AF on that day..

The evidence seems to point to Octotel being the issue but my I cannot talk to Octotel about this issue so it's all about how well CI support handle the situation, so far it's not been great. 10 days in so far with no word on what's actually happening or if there will be a fix coming any time soon.
