Is there anybody in the support department? Have filed a ticket one week ago, tried to also contact you via FB but no feedback whatsoever!

I'm trying to use an IPv6 tunnel to HE in JNB, but the return route goes via London and so I get 150ms+ latency and that's before I'm out of the tunnel.

Any reason why HE would prefer routing back to your network via London when you seem to be peering with them in both CPT and JNB?

Code:
# traceroute 216.66.87.134
traceroute to 216.66.87.134 (216.66.87.134), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets

What is your ticket ref? We use HE as a transit provider in London which is why their tunnel broker route returns this way.

Sent you the ticket ref in a private message, and yes I assumed you are using HE as a transit provider in London, but you also seem to peer with them in JNB and CPT, so it seems like routing can be better optimized.

Hi there.

We're with Coolideas on metrofibre.

Having a weird issue where fibre connection drops numerous times a day. comes back, but there's definitely something wrong as the whole complex seems to be affected by the same issue.

I've had to phone the support department 4 times now to try get something done, and on the last call I'm told that no fault has been logged regarding the issue.

I got a reference number on this last call, but how can it be that someone complains about an issue so many times before it's even acknowledged? Support can see the disconnects on their side surely.

support with coolideas seems really spotty right now.

Octotel 100/25 Cape Gate area.
So last night there was a bit of buffering for about 15 minutes but it could have been the stream from Austin, Texas. Since Saturday streaming has been pretty much perfect.

Glad to hear it.

A transit provider will always prefer their transit service to a peer. But there are some work arounds. I'll have a look for you.

Happy to hear it was just a transient issue.

That gives me some small hope for my internet.

Any idea on when the Openserve Cape Town issues will be resolved. Frustrating to play Diablo 3 with this kind of latency.

9PM check in.

Only pulling 200 KB/s so useless like always.

How Octotel can say "Nothing is wrong" is beyond me.

Omfg. 1.4mb download on a 10mb line. This is why I didn't get a larger pipe to begin with. Octotel, cape town. This is killing me!!!

What's the common denominator dude...Cool ideas!issues are getting worse again.
I'm getting SO tired of these clowns. You guys are making Webafrica look appealing again and that is downright embarrassing!! Sort your **** out cool ideas ffs.

Where in Cape Town do you stay?

If you are willing CISP are asking people to fill out a excel sheet so they can find out where congestion is happening with the Fiber providers.

I'd ask you to please fill out at least one line, it would help a lot.

Lets hope it last and yours get fixed soon. This is so frustrating, we should not have to accept this level of service in South Africa, We are not beggars, we pay for this.

Just putting it here... my son had a **** fit because even YouTube is now buffering... Deja-Vu Crystalweb
