Hi Guys

Quick question, playing overwatch on PS4, my latency usually fluctuates between 180 - 200. Im thinking of setting up WTFast on my PfSense box for my PS4 to improve network performance. Will it improve the latency, or am I out of luck?

I run Wtfast on my Asus routers and its a mixed bag of reviews where in some cases it does improve your latency /stability (less congested routes) and other times it just eats up my routers CPU without any improvement . I would give it a try and see if it works (as far as I know OW has a ingame ping monitor so it should be easy to monitor)

So Octotel in Cape Town seem to be having authentication issues and CISP support closed for the night and possibly long weekend. What happened to Customer support or do we just take customer's money and leave them to fend for themselves!?

@DeatheCore Mine is a joke right now. Twitch is struggling even with the proxy.

@PBCool @TheRoDent Please tell me something is being done about this. Its insane that 14mb local and 0.62mb international is acceptable for a 100mb line.

What proxy are you guys referring to in terms of Twitch?

Twitch is just completely non-functional for me, even with that Alternate Player for Twitch extension that can do 3 simultaneous downloads. It used to work perfectly, now it still buffers every 2-3 seconds.

Can I ask your opinion. You've seen my above iperf results as well as some "better" ones from earlier. Do you still think this is being caused by my line even though it "flares up" during peak time or do you think its actually Octotel's network?

I guess I should have phrased my post better above, I was referring to "your line" having packet loss, meaning everything between your router and Cool Ideas including all the Octotel network links, the fact that you are not the only Octotel client with this problem seems to point to the Octotel network having a problem somewhere in your area, I agree that this does not look like a problem on your specific fibre line. This is my best guess anyway.

Well this is awkward, this is on a 200/200 Vumatel aerial line in Weltevreden park and no one to contact on the weekend or public holidays. I guess I am going to have to search for another provider that can keep me up to date with issues they may be having on their network in a timeous fashion.

You're running a speedtest while connected VPN service hosted in the US to measure return route performance to a server in Amsterdam. You're doubling your latency, adding an inordinate number of hops and finding it odd that you're getting 10 Mbps? That's pretty good given the face that you've done that. Turn off your VPN, try again.
