11pm and the packet loss has magically disappeared. Damn, does Octotel suck.

I can't imagine how how bad TTconnect's network must have been for CISP to drop them if they're fine with with Octotel. I mean I had 50% packet loss last night and 56k speeds. I'm surprised my internet even functioned.

Last night was the worst I've ever seen it.

I'd have moved fibre providers already if there were literally any other options for our building. What I don't understand is how it's gone unaddressed for so long. The Southern Suburbs is a large area - surely there are hundreds or thousands of people affected by this each night - does everyone just accept it as normal, or are the vast majority completely unaware?
 
To be fair, this is not a speedtest on the Cool Ideas network. Looks like a VPN of some kind.

As mentioned in my second post, I don't have a VPN running. I am not sure how that happened. However my second email shows the CISP server and I am still getting nowhere near my 200/200 line speed I pay for.

I will test it when I am home today and see if it is the same. If it is I will log a ticket.

Only conclusion I can come up with is that Octotel don't care. I find it impossible that they don't know its happening.

Sadly openserve is unreliable as well here so I'm stuck with Octotel. The sad part is judging by the way vumatel is surrounding Octotel we probably would have got them if Octotel weren't first.

Yeah man look at my results from last night. It looks like its getting worse and all we get is a vague promise of something being upgraded at some point maybe.

I suppose at least I didn't have to worry about the bursting packet loss last night :ROFL:
 
It's been going on for months. I think it's a safe assumption that if they were going to fix it, they would have by now.

I think CISP are tired of this issue too. Who can blame them, I know I am.

In my personal opinion I think Roelf and Paul should just cut ties with Octotel until they can fix their network. Not saying cancel everyone's account, but just refuse to take on any further customers. This is seriously becoming ridiculous.

I know this isn't a CISP issue and we've all been down this road about whom should talk to who. But in all fairness what else can we as customers do...paying over a grand a month for a service that doesn't work while Octotel happily takes everyone's money for that lackluster service levels. Yes I can cancel and go back to ADSL - oh wait I cant they've taken out the ADSL lines...go wireless...been there done that. What next ....

At the moment there is no limit on the services, but they are designed to be limited to 100Mbps international.

On the 200mbpe package you will get 200mbps when all is ideal but on the 1000mbps you will get 100mbps on international
 
@PBCool: why does it make a difference if my line is aerial or trenched when all I want to do is move my fibre between ISPs?

EDIT: I should mention I just wanted to know if there was a connection fee or not.

@PBCool Any idea why international speeds are so low atm? Or should I say inconsistent...

Tested again to Coreix after these screenshots, and it jumps up to 80Mbps then slowly tapers off and settles randomly between 15 and 50Mbps?
