You're running a speedtest while connected VPN service hosted in the US to measure return route performance to a server in Amsterdam. You're doubling your latency, adding an inordinate number of hops and finding it odd that you're getting 10 Mbps? That's pretty good given the face that you've done that. Turn off your VPN, try again.

i actually don't have a vpn running, I just noticed now that it was running through another server (not sure how that happened). this is the new test I just ran. Its better but still nowhere that I should be getting

Getting a max of 4MB/sec on a 200mbps line via NNTP at the moment. This usually maxes out at 23MB/sec. What's going on tonight?

@PBCool @TheRoDent What more can I say. I'm getting 56k speeds now on a 100mb line.

Honestly at this point I wish their network would just bloody well break so they'd be forced to fix it.

i actually don't have a vpn running, I just noticed now that it was running through another server (not sure how that happened). this is the new test I just ran. Its better but still nowhere that I should be getting

It's the server just tested it now and getting about the same while the other servers in Amsterdam seem to perform well

Well this is awkward, this is on a 200/200 Vumatel aerial line in Weltevreden park and no one to contact on the weekend or public holidays. I guess I am going to have to search for another provider that can keep me up to date with issues they may be having on their network in a timeous fashion.

To be fair, what about all the others complaining about international throughput. I barely got 5Mbps on Saturday, downloading the 2GB patch was much fun while my friend laughs at me and asks why I haven't canceled yet.
Suffice to say I am rectifying it this week.
