cant remember your linespeed but lets assume its 100mb, then with 1 thread youre getting 33% linespeed, so 5 threads will be enough.

200/200 line. Point is I can't achieve line speed no matter how many connections I use. Just did a download at 16MB/sec. Zero packet loss. Something is not right.

Oh crap! I've been monitoring this thread wondering why everybody has been having issues while I have been fine.

Sadly today I join the dissatisfied crowd.

I am over bad service from ISPs. I have put down monitoring and I am going to monitoring this until the end of month. No improvement, then simply not going to subscribe for another month. Off to another provider who will give me the what I pay for.

I have worked for two major ISPs having done traffic doing traffic engineering, banging away at the Packeteer command line myself.

Today I feel like having a beer and playing some online games while family watches Netflix. No go - totally not in the mood push traces and analyse packets.

Heres my token SpeedTest for my 40/20 line running local.

you on Openserve ?

@PBCool - thanks for the R200 price INCREASE and 50% drop in upload speed.
Really don't appreciate it.

I was one of your first ever customers - and I've just sent my cancellation notice due to the simple fact that once upon a time your advertised speed of 20/20 was true - and as of late it no longer is.

I am also going to be reporting you to the ASA and ISPA - I can literally show them the day you changed my upload speed from 20 to 10 whilst continuing to bill me for 20/20.

Below is a result from the ONLY device running on a wired connection to the router to your own speedtest server - I can send you thousands of examples but these 2 show it perfectly.

Please let me know if you intend on rectifying this? Somehow I doubt it because this seems very deliberate if you ask me....

Tonight INT performance seems to be a little on the low side getting 1/10th of my line speed when i usually always get my full line speed

no its CISP thats the problem most probably

I have previously been with C-Fibre on both Vumatel then Openserve. Cancelled with them last month and moved to Cool Ideas as this is the 3rd time moving house.

Got full speed from them for years, never had an issue. Only issue was the delay and mountain of paper work moving my line house to house that made me decide to try Cool Idea's.

Fortunately I am on month to month. This morning again major asymmetry on my line. I understand the business case, but this is extreme.

Megabytes. My line is capable of achieving 23MB/sec. It's achieving 16MB/sec. I don't consider that "decent", or "fast enough". That's only 70% of line speed - it should be saturated with this many connections.

Funny how the troubleshooting stopped when the iperfs were clear.

What concerns me is how interaction on the forums seems to be less and less. No ticket system and now pbcool and rodent vanish....starting to have ptsd of a certain red isp.

i think this is where "best effort" fits in with fiber, like "up to" with adsl.

yep this is my take on it as well. I have submitted a ticket on 23 April which they asked for some iperfs and speed tests. Did all that and submitted on the 30 April. Still waiting for a response and it seems the guys on here have gone quiet.

I think there is an issue they know of but they are just trying to keep mum on it and fix it in the background.

If my line is not sorted out where I am getting what I pay for by the end of the month I am jumping ship.

My line speed international again today on a 200/200 line

The problem is not the ISP (CISP) lack of bandwidth, the problem is lying somewhere on/with your Fibre Provider.

Vuma Trenched, Brackenfell CPT, 1Gbps/100Mbps (take note international is only guaranteed best effort up to 100Mbps for this package)

Yes but international on a 1Gbps account is supposed to be throttled at 100Mbps anyway on cool ideas. So at the moment you are actually getting more than what you are paying for. so while you are getting 5x times the speed you are supposed to

I on the other hand am only getting a 1/3 of the speed download and a 1/25 of my upload speed. I do not expect to receive 200/200 exactly but a fair portion (above 125Mbps which I was achieving before) would be nice.
