Check here another wonky result ive never had before today.

One of the absolute best UK international host I use for testing almost daily and right now I get this.

Before 200/190 no problem, and now. Catch my insane upload speed. :)

Off to bed, hope this is cleared up in the morning somehow.

Not sure if you fixed something PBCool but magically after my post about torrents dropping instantly to 0 they are now behaving as they should and maxing out just like before today. Only those speedtest results are all over the place for me still, haha.

EDIT: Scratch that, torrents back to absolute 0. guess its really time for bed. :(

We will have to agree to disagree.

Anyhow setting that aside, I have just provided pure LAN readings. So as per the comment from user Zoidberg and the reason why he or she went with 200/200 do you think that explains my international speeds? Is my 100/100 plan a potato plan then and is only the 200/200 the true 100mbit internet plan or do you think there are other issues here? Thanks.
As per my reply to you all lines and bandwidth is treated equally. If it wasn't it would be called shaping which we don't do. As mentioned it's more than likely packet loss on your line.

Ok my torrents are back alive, might have just been related to issues from yesterday or who knows what. Nothing left for me to complain about. ;)

Nope, I also assumed the error was on my side but I had no idea or indication that I had to manually do it myself.

This was the mail I received:

Hi Manbjorngris,

Thank you for your reply and for choosing us! :-)

Please note that once we receive your application form, we will then process it and submit it to Frogfoot
They will then contact you with regards to bringing the fibre into your premises. This will include the installation of the termination point for the fibre. It will be a box that will have a LAN port in it. Once this has been installed, the line will still need to be configured on the back end.

When all this has been completed, Frogfoot will then have to notify us as to when the line has been completed and is ready for ISP activation. The reason for this is because once we pre-configure your router and send it off to you, we start billing you.
We don't want to bill you for a service that you may not be able to use, therefore, we rely on that communication from INSERT FIBRE LINE PROVIDER to say that your line is active.

Please note that the general turnaround time for Frogfoot from the time you apply with us to the time they complete their side of the installation is 4 -6 weeks.

Should you need anything further, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Thank you.

Now the thing is they never phoned me and I inquired on if they are making progress to which I received this reply:

Good day David,

Thank you very much for your query.

We are currently liaising with Frogfoot regarding your FTTH order.

As soon as we have more information we will update you accordingly.

They never got back to me and never indicated that I needed to register with Frogfoot directly.

Four weeks roll by and then I found out that they've never placed an order or more specifically that I didn't place an order. If they had told me I would have done it on the same day I applied.

This is why I'd like BPCool to explain why they don't bother talking with the fibre suppliers and where future clients are supposed to read and be informed that CI can only assist once we have registered with a fibre supplier first.

PBcool. Any chance you help me get hold of my account log in details for use with my router? I reset it accidentally and now can't login  sent a support request an hour ago but have no answer yet.

Update on me not receiving the invoice email each month.

I added a rule to filter the CISP emails into a label on gmail, and added an extra step to "never mark as spam". Today I can confirm I received the invoice at 3:42am. So it looks like it previously disappeared into the millions of mails going into spam that I never look at and just wipe out. There is no way I will find an invoice going there. But perhaps something CISP wants to look into.

You can access these via the portal or call support. Have you come right?

Thanks for the feedback, our invoices are sent via an anti-spam service. But will have em look into it.

This is a bit complicated as we deal with around 20 providers, we have done thousands of installs in the current manner. So not sure where the miscommunication came in. Fibre providers want "the customer" as well which is why they prefer you apply with them. There is also then no middle man involved in the installation.

Thanks PBCool, it must have been a slip from the sales dept which is understandable that I most likely was the exceptional 0.01% out of a 99% success rate but I would still very strongly recommend that you put it in writing that even though you apply for a package with CI the client needs to register with the fibre provider directly.

It's important information for those less informed on the process of getting fibre.

PBCool,

Just a quick question on the vumatel line (I am hoping to get my fibre installed by them tomorrow) but I have noticed you asking questions on fault finds if the vumatel line is trenched or arial. Is there a difference between the lines?

also how long can I expect to up and running on fibre if vumatel are going to install my physical line tomorrow?

thanks.

When i had mine installed and it was active, took 5-10min from registering on the store to using the account.

thanks

I'm gonna hold thumbs then this happens for me as well, would like to be up and running by tomorrow night
We have had far more network and line related issues on aerial, also they are independent networks and provisioning systems. On trenched you can order a package right away, on aerial they need to provision the line which is manual at the moment.

So strange that! As a layman I thought the only difference between the 2 methods of deployment was where the cable is run IE one on street poles and the other underground.

I didn't even know there was a portal (couldn't see any clear link on the mobile website?)! Anyway, will create a account on it and see how I go.

Which email address did you signup with as this will be your username? Call the office if you need assistance 0105932665
