Ah ok cool thanks yes with Vumatel, will check.

If you've not done so already, register and login here.
Then ones your line is active on the Vumatel network your Object Number will be displayed, and then you will find a option in that account area to select your ISP and required speed UP/DN package.
Then just follow the instructions.

Make sure you use the same email address to register here as what was used to order your line.

Well it's quite easy, we issue you a temp account if you get similar results you know it's a line/OS thing. If not it's an ISP thing.

Some results:

Traceroute on Telkom:

Traceroute on CISP:

Conclusive to say that there's an issue with Telkom and that a move to CISP is urgently required? :D

Also thinking of moving from Telkom to CISP as I';ve been having massive latency issues with Telkom lately. when I signed up everything was fine but lately my ping is about 50ms higher on Telkom. The people I stay with still want Telkom Telephone So I was thinking of getting a 4mb/2mb account only with CISP just for me and PPPOE into the router for when I game. Having to play Rainbow six siege with about 50ms more is almost unplayable

For some odd reason the problem fixed itself! 140ping to EU now. Thank you to whom ever fixed it on cool ideas side (if anyone did anything lol)

So you threaten cancelling on the very first day, at the very first sight of something going even slightly wrong? lol

Sure, what do you need? You are welcome to move over whenever you like :)

I'm already with you guys..

This is for my client- just needed your confirmation that the prob with their current ISP (Telkom) will go away once moved to you guys based on the above Traceroute's.

Well with a single traceroute at a single point in time I cant for sure say it's an ISP thing, has your client not been using the test account for a while? You will have more of an idea based on them using "in production" than a single trace.

Good point.
I must add that they've been having a latency issue for about 12 months. Telkom, obviously do a S/test to their server's which are prioritised and all looks hunky dory but it's not the case.

I ran a few other trace's and the results were pretty consistent that their current issue is a Telkom issue.

Either way, I reckon that they'll be better with with you guys anyway.

How do i activate my account this time of night?
Router in, registered at vumatel. Now what?

Trenched or ??

trenched
There's a CPE box against my living room wall. Router connected to it. Lights flashing. Says connected. Must get activated now I suppose from Cool Ideas side.

Unlike CW they don't have after hour support I see

Did they dig outside your house or street or is your fibre from a telephone pole?

If you’ve registered on the Vumatel portal, I just reset my CPE and router and was online

Plug a device into the CPE browse to any site, you should get redirected to Vumatels portal. Register and order one of our packages. This should take a few minutes and you will receive one of our IPs :).

I thought I ordered the package already on your site with the online application

Done. How will I receive this IP and what do I do with it?
