Had a telecon with the Octotel Operations Manager who informed me that the broadcast storm issues they have had was caused by a specific configuration with two other ISP's. This caused the major issues on Wednesday.
They have put measures in place to mitigate this. This is apparently all they have changed this week. My personal feeling is that it may have also been the cause of issues during peak times.
They are also awaiting additional capacity upgrades to Blouberg and Cape Gate which should hopefully be completed today. They also have plans in place to not use City Fibre for those routes but to put in place their own infrastructure.

At the moment Vumatel Trenched only. I'm pretty scared to see a 1Gbps service launched on any GPON based network considering that 2.4Gbps is typically shared between 16-32 subscribers.
My sentiments exactly! Vuma can't even get 100mbps right.

Well then PBCool must have lied. Because he specifically said Vuma Aerial is launching this week.
Edit: Let me put it to you this way. If CISP does not launch a 1gb package on Vuma Aerial within the next week, I’ll be cancelling all my services with CISP and moving to Websquad. Because at least they offer it.

In fact, with all this BS being spewed here now about Vuma Aerial not supporting 1gbps, I think I’ll be cancelling anyway. I can place an order for Websquad on my Vuma portal no problem.

I have logged more tickets in the short time with coolideas than I have with any other ISP!
It is insane how inept they are, all they do is "refresh my line" and ask me to restart my CPE and router!

To be fair, I didn’t mention that when Fibrehoods were installing in my area they were deploying the new upgraded GPON equipment.
@TheRoDent @PBCool Can you please look at COOL-20190204-213236 am getting 13Mpbs uploads speeds on a 100Mpbs line. This issue has been open since Feb. Your support people simply ignore tickets and provide no responses.

Entire day passed again without a reply from support, so earliest I can expect is a reply to yesterday evening's reply on Monday? This after waiting over 24 hours for a template reply that was not even a quality template reply?
Seriously considering moving providers end of next month and it's been like a month. Don't want to deal with a provider that has recent Afrihost level support, though they at least reply within 24 hours.
I mean I even had to open a ticket to get PPPoE details previously instead of getting it automatically when my line is active after like over an hour on the phone.
Really disappointed.

Mine's still killing it. Its as flat as I've ever seen it. Man its such a relief after 6 months of crap internet every evening.

Tonight for the first time in a long time twitch is lagging out every now and then on MFN Carlswald, even after using the proxy
The problem seems to lie when twitch gets the stream from Rio instead of FRA

Only time I've ever had that issue was when I stopped using the default CISP DNS. It then defaulted to Rio for some reason.
Cape town and OS. Much like under_sky proxy does nothing for me these days.

Which CISP dns are you using as i believe they have got a few. With me usually the 1.1.1.1 would route me via FRA. tonight its stuck on getting the stream via RIo
Lastly i see they using Level 3 instead of HE.net was this a recent change or a improvement ?
