I also asked for a MTN Sim to test if the service would be any better.

Some lady from CISP phoned me said they don't have any mtn Sim cards at the moment. She said she was going to send my ticket to network department to resolve.

No one called me back.

I landed up canceling the Vodacom service.

What do I need to do to try out the mtn service guys?

Apologies for any inconvenience caused here. It seems that our team sent this ticket to our support department for further assistance, however the ticket was marked resolved by the system (not sure if this was in error or not)
This resulted in your ticket not being attended to, which should not have happened.

I will re-open the ticket, and someone should be in touch accordingly
You could have also replied on the ticket to re-open it, as stated here: "This ticket is closed. You may reply to this ticket to reopen it."

Regardless, someone should be in touch accordingly

Hey @CoolEscalator a quick note about the wireless 5G products. Location change map.

When trying to change my primary location for the service to any location, even on the same roof, it says no coverage.
I needed to contact support to change my location.

It will be cool if we can change our primary location on the fly without having to contact support. :)

Also, the SIM status is a nice touch and is working well for me, I could instantly know what the issue was.

It should work, but I know MTN's coverage map can be problematic at times.
Can you PM me the address so I can try change it on my end?

Are you not able to use the MTN service in multiple locations?

On the Vodacom package it worked throughout the country.

MTN tower locks and Vodacom will probably do the same at some point.

Yeah you can move it but then need to update its location, fixed wireless access rules :)

Are they implementing the soft data cap anytime soon?

Speed test conducted yesterday.

I was able to play Call of Duty Warzone using the MTN 5G through out the night without any disconnections or massive ping spikes as experienced continously with the Vodacom Sim.
 
Looking to jump ship to Cool Ideas Vodacom 5G as my Afrihost one is suffering constant packet loss and latency spikes my signal is full and normal vodacom sim is fine.

Anyone here using it with their Unifi setup as I do need to VPN in at times and check on my cameras, has anyone used it successfully with that and Latency for Durban folks?

@PBCool did mention a static IP to me but did not hear anything after that, if this works I am cancelling at Afrihost

Really keen on the Cool Ideas packages ,looks great!
I need to decide between MTN and Vodacom - I'm mainly looking for high donwload speed and a low PING even when traffic is heavy.

What package is the best and which service providor MTN or Vodacom?

I'm based in JHB South- Mulbarton area!
Appreciate the feedback!

HI there, I don't believe we have public IP's available on our 5G packages as yet, but should be in the pipeline.
However there are ways around that, such as cloudflare tunnels, or something similar like Tailscale that does not require a domain like cloudflare does.
