Cool Ideas Fixed 5G/4G Feedback Thread

So, good news, sad news.

The good news: received my ZTE 5GTS with preinstalled Vodacom SIM card yesterday. Was up and running within a matter of minutes.

The sad news: despite the coverage map showing that my suburb and surrounding areas are 5G-enabled, the reality is that the ZTE is showing that I'm 4G+, which is evident by the light blue light on the front of the router. Maybe this will be rectified by Vodacom in the near future...

I have a question for those who use their ZTE 5GTS's with another router: did you put your ZTE into bridge mode or leave it as-is in order to access the dashboard?

Ta.

l've done bridge mode and added a static route to my Unifi setup to still access the dashboard just changed the ip

Thanks. Can you please share your steps on how you did that? I'm guessing that you changed the default IP of the ZTE from 192.168.0.1 to something else and then configured the route on your Unifi stack? A screenshot or 2 would greatly help.

Thanks.

What is the IP of your current network (not the ZTE)?

You can use any IP along as it does not cause a conflict (like the IP 192.168.0.1) is in use

Under policy engine , select policy based route and under interface pick your wan and under destination enter the ip of the ZTE

All should work bridge mode only works on the first port of the ZTE

My 5G is at the office so I cannot screenshot

Before I log a ticket, just want to check is anyone else hard down on Vodacom 5G or just me?

Feels strange that noone has posted that they are down yet the trace seems to be stopping within CISP's network.

Strange, I can reach your IP from my end- might have come back up now.
Is it still not working at the moment? Don't see anything obvious that would have caused that

Yep, still dead, I have actually just opened a ticket before I saw your response here as I dont think its widespread / affecting everyone.

Edit: It seems like traffic that doesn't flow through the 100.99.22.16 hop seems fine, eg the DNS IP:

traceroute to 154.0.1.1 (154.0.1.1), 30 hops max, 66 byte packets

Yeah I have also been down for a while. Looks like one of the NAT boxes maybe. Since 19:30.

Strange yeah, as I see No loss when pining your CGNAT IP

Also don't see an issue on my own one, so likely a tower issue , but strange that it times out on hop 7, very odd
