The username is "test" and the password is "test". The host to connect to is "ukvpn.cisp.co.za"

That should do it
Wow Thank You! wasnt expecting anyone to reply, let alone in such an easy to understand way, which is what I NEED.

And what is the use of this? Basically a free UK VPN?

So i'll start seeing British ads instead of SA?

You will only see a benefit in using the VPN if you play games hosted on google cloud, to bypass the JHB hairpin, otherwise you are better off connecting directly without the VPN.

okay I learned games can be hosted on google cloud. Let me stop asking basic questions and start googling.
Thanks for the information though, appreciate

Majority of game companies are using Amazon/Google/Microsoft and the big guys to host their game servers.

This then results us in using the big guys networks to get to the servers.

So in Amazon's case if i play Apex on Frankfurt server it is hosted by Amazon and my traffic will go CISP -> Amazon CT and then it will go via Amazon's network to the server.

In Google's case for someone in Cape Town your traffic goes

CT -> JHB -> Google in JHB

Then from Google JHB it goes back down to CT to WACs cable to London and then to like Belgium in Apex case so my latency will be 35ms higher due to the CT -> JHB -> CT trip so a UK VPN eliminates that +35ms extra and i'll hit Belgium at 155ms vs 180-190 via Googles network

KZN-10ms-JHB-Google-CPT-???ms-international.

So better off than CPT actually. Because 10ms is less than the 40ms hairpin.

Keep voting for games/companies that allow self-hosting, or is at least willing to partner with an ISP.

The uk one seems to be down as well
q2.cisp.co.za should be working. (Windows VPN settings)

Sorry didn't reply to this I found my issue. I'm using OpenWrt and needed "kmod-nf-nathelper-extra" package to be installed.

Link to the setup if anyone else needs it: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/services/vpn/pptp/extras#nat_traversal

Hey There,

Does this VPN still work and can i add it directly onto my Cudy router, reason i ask, im getting this error:

It actually cycles, goes "Connected" (Lasts about 30 seconds) then "Not Connected" then "USER_REQUEST" not sure if i need to do something specifc? The reason im doing it on the router directly is because i need the VPN for Fortnite on Console (Xbox and PS)

I have tested it now and seems to be fine, I did however need to press "Save" 2 times before it connected
But it remains connected

Hi @Joka69 , are you able to see if its any different if you enable "encryption" ?
Please also make sure you are on the latest firmware 2.0.4 - https://www.cudy.com/lyqxz, as i know older firmware's give this issue
That seems to have done the trick, thank you.

Still not getting the best latency, but ill update firmware later and try again.

Hello! I was looking around for ISP's that had access to that SACS cable and I read up on cool ideas adding and then removing that due to negative feedback. Then I saw another post somewhere from 2022 mentioning that you may add this as a VPN option down the line.

Does anyone know if that will ever happen? Or is the number size just way too small to bother?
