Singapore has players 24/7 since both EU and NA can play on their servers with decent ping. Tokyo for example is one of the most popular server in Apex since NA/EU get about 90ms to it *edit: the Apex matchmaking also groups regions so all EU servers are EU meaning if you pick Singapore and there is not enough players then it will route you to a server close by with a slight higher ping.

Only dead regions in the game are Brazil and Bahrain from testing and sometimes Australia in like early hours of the morning

Language barrier in Apex doesn't really matter since you have a ping system and can generally communicate in game via the in game comm system which will be in their language.

The only real barrier would be what you guys previously had aka Brazil due to it being a region like us far from anything and no one would want to play on the servers except locals

Didn't you have a VPS to Singapore at some point? Anyway, investigating some zenlayer routing to Singapore/East.

Not me, i know one or two people who did a CT to JHB and then from JHB i think they used Datakeepers who had capacity to Vultr in Singapore

Pings/MTR's to 23.248.183.54 would be appreciated.
 
Just chiming in with the others to say I would also love a Singapore route via SAFE for Apex in particular, that's probably the only additional route I would ever want tbh.

It would be even more awesome if it could route direct via Durban so that us KZN users can get even lower ping.

Durban routing not likely, as we don't have transit there, and not many providers that offer VPC or services out of Durban.

DD/IS could be an option, but might take some time.
 
Would it be possible that a VPN could reduce the packet loss I've been experiencing with League of Legends EUW? I've tried all of the VPNs in this thread (PPTP/L2TP/SSTP), but they either increased latency while having the same packet loss rates, or were overall less stable.

When I was on Afrihost, I'd get 1/5 the loss, but 30ms higher ping. At the beginning of the year, the ping was ±175ms from Pretoria but they changed their international routing. Either way, still less loss.

I don't know if it's because of League using UDP or what, but it's clear that there is something Afrihost does that doesn't cause the same issues.

Here's the example I posted a little while back where swapping between Afrihost and CISP PPPoE showed a pretty stark contrast:

There is now a JHB-Singapore PPTP server available for testing: jhb-sin.lowlag.cisp.co.za
Bandwidth is limited to 50Mbps but should be enough for some testing. Same test/test username can be used

Pings look like 117-120ms to Singapore from JHB

Pings are fine but if i try do any sort of speedtest it seems hard capped at 1Mbps so things are very slow

Tried Apex on it for a bit and it was pretty good, seemed about 10ms higher than Exitlag's route. But now I noticed the latency suddenly went up to 190ms so maybe there was a break somewhere.

EDIT: Ok it's back to normal now, that's quite strange. Also as Cryptic pointed out the speed seems to be capped at 1Mbps and I seem to occasionally get pretty high ping spikes because traffic exceeds 1Mbps but other than that it's pretty good.

Have sorted out the capacity issue, but it's still limited/shared at 50Mbps overall for the trial period.

This is a limited trial for jhb-singapore, with the objective to get feedback from our gamers.

Obviously, with the pptp connection all traffic is going to be routed via it at the moment, so expect a shared 50Mbps cap between whomever is using the route at the moment. Don't speedtest it to death :) You might be lagging your fellows to death...

The point is not that this is a VPN service for full blown access at this point to Singapore, but a limited trial.

I'd appreciate feedback on that matchmaking, and latency etc.

Was probably when @CrypticZA was doing a speedtest :) I'm going to enforce a 10Mbps per pptp connection bandwidth limit for now.
