Cosatu considers Vodacom boycott

Oh puleeez !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who do they think make up the major portion of Vodacoms cellular usage ? What a bunch of morons..wait, more k*k to come in coming months with cosatu

Great thinking.

Boycott them and force them to lay off workers.

And then have mass action because they want to lay off workers.

This is a strange decision - Vodacom was owned by Telkom and Vodafone which decided to make a few deals. Cosatu is unhappy about the deals which the two parent companies made, and will hit back by punishing the 'kid'? Kind of like punishing a kid because his parents are divorcing...

Is this maybe Cosatu's way to warn international companies to stay out of South Africa?

This is soo clever... soooooo typical...

I think one of the best things that could happen to vodacom is them selling to vodafone... Its just mongrels that have a problem with it. We aren't getting our back pockets filled enough so lets boycott and behave like little children...

They're a bunch of dimwits and are will be hurting themselves and this country's future at this rate.

Many of COSATU's members are government employees who contribute to the Govt Service Pension Fund. The PIC invests their monthly contributions.... amongst others in Telkom. Through this they will now receive Vodacom shares and own around 6% of Vodacom. If they boycott Vodacom and destroy its value, they are costing their own members their pension money!!!

Seriously... how much money are we talking about? And who really believes that all their members are actually going to listen to them and abide by this?

If Vodacom has a market cap of R100bn then their shares are worth around R6bn.

If they boycott good things will happen.

1. They will have to buy either MTN or Cell-C sims and airtime. Better competition and hopefully this will cause Vodacom to lower their prices.
2. Cosatu will lose their SMS campaign contact numbers.

Let them boycott, it's WIN WIN all the way.

MTN and Cell C won't be able to handle the additional traffic!!!! LOL

they are acting like spoiled children. I hope Zuma puts them in their place!

I'd love to see which COSATU members are prepared to pay the penalties for contract cancellations :D

like the majority will cancel their contracts, good luck, people in this country are far too dependent on this particular piece of tech

"Cosatu" and their Chinese buddies missed another good deal ... so now violence kicks in ...
