Wonder if it is standard in international cricket for the captain to be involved in selection or maybe just smaller countries that only have 1 or 2 superstars ?

Pay attention to India vs England and listen to what the captains say when asked about strategy and team selection. Kohli gets lots of flack for his, but he sticks to it.

Depends on captain. Some don't want to be involved in selection. Example Michael Clarke when he was aus captain.

Feel for the afghan cricketers but it's the right to do. There is also an ICC rule that test members must have a women's team.

He forgot: Pollock, Klusener, MacMillan, Philander...before even getting to Rice, Simons, Proctor etc. He's not even in the same category let alone same page or book as them.
 
So is that a 2-1 series win to India? If so, they've just knocked over Aus and Eng at home, with an SA tour later this year…

I think they're trying to reschedule it but ja, we have no chance and we barely made it with AB last tour.
