Declared... can SA win form here? draw?... anything can happen so i'm not predicting anything as yet. Like to see a fight though, so... go saffers, give it them.

I dunno hey, i think a draw would be suffice but i feel a bit let down from our "elite pace attack". so much hype but they did nothing

Waaay overhyped. I think our bowlers started to believe they were gods and thought the Pommie batsmen were just gonna fall over before them.

But it might be a good sign!! In the past we always starting like a house on fire and fell away at the end with Eng coming back in to win or draw the series.

Maybe a well fought draw is just what we need to start off with. wil take some batting though, but they dont call it TEST cricket cause its easy!!

As Ian Botham said yesterday our players look rusty, they've had too few warm up games in England.

I think the IPL has caused our team to have shortened the time necessary to adjust to English conditions. Which was clearly demonstrated in the way our bowlers bowled, too short. The Eng bowlers have bowled consistently fuller than our players and a result have got the ball to swing.

This game reminds me of the first test in the WI series.

100 to Prince!!

A very fine innings by Prince and he is absolutely over the moon. His wife and young baby watch and clap, and Lord's rises to acknowledge what has been a real backs-to-the-wall effort. Top effort that man
88.5 Sidebottom to Prince, 1 run, nudged off his hip and Prince immediately roars his delight

P.S. No way I'm giving those pommies credit for that. We selfdestructed :D

let me guess, you are probably sitting firmly on the 'SA are chockers' bandwagen as well, and will be there for the next ten years not matter what we do?

Is that the bandwagon which is right next to the "SA will never beat NZ in rugby" one? If so we all know what happened to that one.... :)

Nope, just believe our guys had a bad day and made the english look good, hence we self destructed. I still think we can salvage a draw.
For the record, I never ever said SA are chokers. Just merely want to believe we had a bad day and not give eng any credit. :D

We had a bad day, thats for sure. But Eng bowled well, we were under pressure etc etc. There is a lot more to it than just us 'self destructing' as there always is in a game of test cricket. Proper test teams will always 'test' you in a game. Sometimes you fail sometimes you pass. We failed thus far, but we were tested by a very good test team in their own backyard.

I just dont agree that we self destructed, but somehow I tend to not agree with many people when it comes to cricket, might be me, but I like to believe I am always right :D
