DJ... or any other CW support agent, is there a plan for data roll over in the works? I THINK I remember something to this effect being mentioned some time ago, but cannot be certain.

Would be a nice to have ;) Not a deal breaker by any means though.

Also - flawless performance on my account since...well...a long time. Keep it up.

Some funk on the pipes this AM ....... just noticed a bit of sluggishness so popped in game and saw packet loss and thought I'd do an mtr. It'll probably be gone when I wake up and not bothered by it, simply sharing because it happened last Saturday early too.

Hi guys

I have not been on here for a couple weeks, has the Crystalweb portal been fixed or redone yet?
I am unable to sign on still since I joined 2 months back.

If the portal is supposed to be working how to I change / reset my password, since I have tried all my normal passwords and nothing works.

Go to online chat. Ask them to assist you.

If I complete the signup for a free trial account I assume I set a login ID and password (or get given them) for access to the details of my trial account. If I subsequently decide to take a paid service will that use the same account details and logon that I specified when setting up the trial account or is a new account set up on the online systems for paid services?

I ask because I prefer to have as few accounts online with any real personal information in them as possible. If the trial account is only going to be used for the period of the trial then I would fill in the signup form with as much anonymous data as possible rather than disclosing real ID details. If however it will subsequently be used for my paid service then it becomes an account for an organisation that I have a financial relationship with and so does become one of the accounts where I do declare accurate personal details.

- Julian (Who does now have a working Telkom landline number but it's not ADSL enabled yet. Getting closer but not quite there.)

We will create a new account for the paid account.

With respect to completing anonymous information, I must point you towards the terms and conditions accepted at that time and urge you not to complete anything that could be construed as fraudulent, as we do run checks. It could result in a permanent blocking from using Crystal Web in future.

Remember that when you sign up for a paid account, the terms are accepted accordingly and you choose your payment methods, which is why manual conversion from free to paid is not possible without having to manually complete forms, which is an even more onerous process in and of itself...

Thanks DJ. In that case I think I'll skip the free trial and go straight for the smallest capped account for my first test. I was going to do that anyway to gauge my usage and see whether capped or premium uncapped would be most cost effective. If I subsequently want to switch from capped to uncapped then is that all kept within the same paid account?

By the way, you never did get back to me on my PM and subsequent reminder. I don't care about checking ADSL port availability anymore because I already have the order in process with Telkom to get my landline ADSL-enabled but I would still like to know what your "full retail price" would be for the 1Mbps ADSL line speed that I would want to downgrade to as a placeholder for the 6 months when I am not in the country (to make sure I keep the ADSL port allocated at the exchange).

No problem.

If you switch it will be the same account. No need for changes there...

1Mbps line-only pricing for what you require (while away) is R75/m. My apologies - that PM must have slipped through the cracks...

Hi guys, what email can I use for payment support? I eft'd them on the 1st December, yet they have debited my account today (16th Dec) as well.

Live chat is supposed to be active from 08:00. Maybe go onto live chat?

Crystalweb is going the same way as mweb and then afrihost.

No service with no support

I have terminated all accounts with them

You sure? Their support is pretty decent albeit one run-in. Maybe you've had some bad luck with them.

In the last seven days I twice used their online chat to report my telkom line issue. I asked to be kept up to date.....nothing.

I tried today again to get hold of support after 5min of holding I gave up. They are charging me 1399 for that.

Not on.

Which package do you have?

Is your line also at CW?

Uncapped home and yes they convinced me to move my line to Telkom as they would get better results from Telkom

Something very wrong here and doesn't sound normal whatsoever. Please send me your details so I can personally investigate for you. Our live chat is live until midnight albeit they were closed today (1st time this year). Line management you receive updates through every single step of the way. As for performance if there's a stated issue, our network is operating superbly to the point that pretty much nobody has ever noticed a smidgen of shaping.

So there's clearly something fundamentally broken with respect to receiving our communication and quite possibly your line. Our ticket desk has 0 open tickets and one assigned to me that was escalated which I suspect is yours.

More than happy to help out though, so please PM me your details so that I can see what the issue is...

Is something wonky at the moment? Tons of slow loading and no loading pages all over the place. All dns lookup issues until a refresh. Just CW experiencing it.

Seems to be DNS related. Busy checking why now. Was a fibre break yesterday and we're also busy offloading new traffic to new links but very little to no impact is to be expected, especially for your region...
