Can you provide me with your username so I can check for you? You can PM me the details.

Our uncapped accounts are subject to the speed limits of the product selected, whereas capped operates at your line speed. Let me check for you.

Having built the packages myself, I can assure you that nothing is specifically rate limited other than uncapped that is limited to the speed selected, so a 4Mbps uncapped would obtain 4Mbps even if the line is 10Mbps enabled...

Thanks. PM'ing you now

I got a 10mbps speed account. I even asked the tech about this and they said that everything seems fine from their side. You can blatantly see that it is limited to around 4mbps and I even asked them to check that. They said that i seem to be the only guy they know of experiencing this.

I am really frustrated because no one can resolve this. I moved away from MWeb to crystal web because i read amazing feedback. But I may jump on to another provider. Vox seems to provide amazing speed in my area.

From our side this is the 1st I'm hearing of this. I am the CEO of Crystal Web and can investigate it for you. If it's not correctly provisioned I can check the backend systems for you to identify any possible issues...

Thanks for attending to this. Much appreciated :)

No problem. Have responded to your PM and asked you to hop on live chat to run through some tests. I'll pop on some additional bandwidth as you're capped at the moment, and we'll get to the bottom of it.

From our side, and others can confirm, there are no 4Mbps rate limits on home capped, so yours is an isolated case, and I do see faster speeds than 4Mbps in the data logs, but appears to not exceed 6Mbps. I'm not seeing line sync issues, so it's possible after ASSIA did its thing we may need to have that port reset for you, as I do see your sync at an ASSIA sync rate and not the standard Telkom profile sync rate. Let's discuss via live chat if we can...

Is everything fixed now with the problems from yesterday? My internet is crawling and sites don't always open.

Ai. Telkom fault logged.

Fibre running at 4mb in Pinehurst :(

Well I can relate, as my home lines are down and the Telkom techs keep making it worse. We all get this end of the stick every now and then.

I'm intentionally not escalating this using any work connections, so that I can truly understand what everyone goes through (remain grounded, a bit [LOL]). It's 2 weeks, they repaired one but disconnected the other for some reason when they left; they returned a week later and said groundworks team was needed as the line was cut; groundworks team say it's nonsense and there's no problems; now the other line has been reduced to nothing but noise and the other one remains down. They were here today and say they have no idea. So I can truly understand the frustration of dealing with this from your guys' side. All of this because I reported worse line stats than usual on the line. In hindsight, it simply wasn't worth it.

What I've noticed is that we often hear from customers saying "the Telkom technician said x, y, and z" usually relating to commercial matters or something technical. I asked the same of the 3 technicians who have been to site and none of them quite understood the questions; or had nonsense answers to the questions; or as the one put it "I'm just a copper-cabler. I don't know how it works". So my suggestion is to not always place all of your reliance in what the on-site technician says relating to very technical matters or commercial matters. They're usually very good at repairing and maintaining within their resource limitations, but they're not always up to speed with the latest developments...

Confirmed with a Telkom tech that 'something' is amiss in my area in the south.

Quite a few people, having my exact issue. Telkom also seemed unaware of it till reported...scary.

Intermittent connectivity for me. Router says connected then few minutes later it says disconnected for me. I stay in Alberton, Meyersdal area. Looks like a Telkom problem

Sounds like the DSL sync is dropping there. Have you spoken to support at all? The guys on support can check what's happening with the line for you...

Seems to have stabilised. I will contact support if it continues tomorrow. I see my line speed is now at 5mb/s
