Is anybody else's EU WoW connection being routed via USA? When I run winmtr to eu.battle.net it seems to show it, and my in game pings are over 300ms. I've already opened a support ticket, I'm just curious if it's affecting anyone else?

Spotted this already and busy resolving it - odd one that the team brought to my attention so we're on the case here to fix that specific routing...

DJ, the support staff member replying to my ticket is suggesting the problem is with the game's server -.- Can you just fill them in please?
Shall do, thanks for letting me know. It could be a number of issues so it is far too premature to know who is to blame for what is clearly sub-optimal routing, whether it be an error on our side, IS, or announced incorrectly, or possibly a routing issue with international peering partners, so no such definitive statement should have been made. With this sort of thing it's not something support will handle and admittedly I haven't had a chance to talk to them all to explain yet, so apologies about that. I will talk to the guys now about it...![]()
yes it is and my ISP is Telkom ....Is anybody else's EU WoW connection being routed via USA? When I run winmtr to eu.battle.net it seems to show it, and my in game pings are over 300ms. I've already opened a support ticket, I'm just curious if it's affecting anyone else?
@DJ...
I found this yesterday around 2PM, I talked to support and after testing with other ISPs we both came to the conclusion it was on Blizzards side.
I talked to Blizzards live chat and they passed it on to the engineers who said it is most likely something on their side so they would look into it.
If you look at the official forum there are a lot of people from different parts of the world relaying the same issue of the 80ms+ increase.
So its not a SA issue.
EDIT: If you guys want to help with getting the message across you can add your +1 to this thread I made yesterday > LINK
EDIT 2: I also just tried using it with a VPN to Netherlands where the servers are based, and I am getting 167ms. So it is definitely the routing.
While on the subject.. who here plays STO and has a sub 300ms in game ping on their CW account? I have never been able to get that.
OK I've spotted the issue and we've implemented a fix cycle for this. Will require some work on our end.
I've updated the network notices to indicate as such and am busy with the guys to sort it out. It's a fault on our end for sure - no need to start investigating your routers and DSL line.
Network notices have been updated so for updates in real-time on this progress please subscribe to them by clicking live chat and extra info, and following through to our network notices page where you can subscribe to us by SMS and email for updates.
I should be able to get this pushed through quicker but we're being a bit conservative with the fix to allow us time to test and deploy...
It has been talked about in the past in this thread and I personally think it is absolutely stupid to complain about 1GB+/- of "lost" data.
