Was there yesterday when I thought it could have been a issue on my side but shaun popped in and said it was a switching issue however at 12:00 it instantly goes full speed so its definitely shaping being applied. Switching to trial accounts fixes it. Like I said yesterday on live chat I fully understand shaping NNTP during work hours but 6kB/s is a bit insane, also just checked WA Capped thread and people seem to being having issues with download speeds there as well so its probably just WA having issues again.

How does P2P run in comparison?

Don't really use torrents but just grabbed a random one with the most seeders, currently getting between 0 and 7kB/s averaging around 3kB/s.

Edit: Just tried running both the usenet and torrent download not sure if its just me but when the torrent download picks up the usenet one goes down and visa versa.

Must say the account has been running much better lately. Not 100%, but a lot better than usual. I still cant stream twitch @ Source on a 20Mbps line, but at least HIGH is running flawless most of the time. Keep it up!

Howdy everyone, I'm looking to pick up the 10meg uncapped package but back when I tried the trial account for crystal I got 180ms to my international games while getting 165ms on Mweb.

I am really keen to switch over but looking for some current international latency figures on users in Cape Town because I really want to leave Mweb :(

Experiencing extremely slow speeds across the board tonight, any problems elsewhere tonight?

Also experiencing slow speeds. Unable to stream. Buffering a lot. Switching over to my VOX account.

@Crystal Web Support, NNTP currently ranging between 80 and 100kB/s. It picked up gradually from about 5ish. I'll have a look tomorrow again during the day if its around 6kB/s again I'll hop onto live chat.

Sent in my cancellation with CW. Had enough with their crap. Gave them an entire year to sort themselves out. Got myself a VOX 100gb promotion account. Streamed flawlessly whereas CW constantly buffered, decided to order another 2 accounts. 300gb for R492 pm plus rollover data. More then enough for me and already saving R200pm.

@CW: I think iv been more then fair with you. I have brought you clients and was always loyal towards you. I defended you when people rubbished you. I remained loyal throughout all your issues. But enough is enough. I cannot and will not continue supporting you. Good luck, you will need it.

Yup, half line speed with streaming at the moment.

Same on my side for all of yesterday afternoon and into the evening. Also switched to backup account. Line was running at 300kB - 400kB of 40mb. Not cool. Alt account ran perfect.

*sigh*

Seems the capped problems are back again :-/

Just tried downloading something via NNTP a little better today now its running at 15kB/. Its probably WA's network having issues again, when are they not nowadays. Streaming is still fine though, I don't get capped accounts anymore they have changed drastically to what they used to be, you used to pay a little more for a fixed cap but then if you needed to grab something during the day you weren't as heavily penalized as the uncapped guys but now we are shaped just as heavily during the day.

So I also want to move away from Mweb and get the work on a CW account. I was with them last year, but moved to a new home with zero telkom infrastructure. Anyway, good move from Mweb to CW currently?

Yea. The problem is that the current home capped accounts on both CW and WA are not managed by them. They are managed by the upstream provider. They just resell them.

CW has said on a few occasions they are looking at managing the home capped accounts themselves going forward and I am patiently waiting for more information on that.

At present it's a crapshoot whether I will be able to stream HD content or not as sometimes it runs perfectly...and other times not even close. When it runs bad it runs bad across the board mind you. Latency remains brilliant, but the account's throughput is crippled. At 00:00 this gets lifted.

Really really annoying.

I've been informed that there will be a huge improvement towards the end of the month. For the first time in over a month that I've been doing spot checks, I saw my P2P speeds go over 400 kbps on a capped account last night. It wasn't consistent but it appears that things are improving.

Heartening to hear. Hope it happens.

I don't mind the p2p that much.

Give me solid and reliable top tier streaming.

How is facebook for everyone? I see I get the same bleh loading times with CW 1GB Free Acc and Mweb Premium uncapped.

Been having problems streaming for a while. But last night I noticed something. I have a 4mb line and I use my ps3 as media player. I use Unotelly as my DNS provider.
What I picked up last night was, that when I input manual Unodns servers on my PS3, my speed drops down to 2.4 - 2.5mb when doing a speedtest. I'm using CPT and JHB servers. But when I leave dns servers to automatic, my speed shoots up to 3.3 -3.5mb. Now I know the PS3 speedtest is not really accurate, but the results are constant.
Also, when I use Unodns settings on my router and run speedtest from my PC, everything runs normally. Gets speeds of 3.6mb. But when I do speedtest from my PS3, I get 2.5mb. And it is a new router. So that's not the problem.
So my question is. Are the PSN, together with with Unodns getting speedlimited? Chatted with support last night, but the consultant couldn't help me.
