I would seriously consider testing with another ISP first just to rule that out.

Google Drive does 25-30Mbps and OneDrive does closer to 40Mbps though. I don't have another ISP account to test with. My free 1GB Afrihost account doesn't work on my fibre line.

Axxess and Web Africa? Heck I could spare you a Vox account to test on if you need. I don't think it's CW since their stuff seems blazin but it's not a bad idea to test.

I think your free AH account might be locked to your old line. Check in clientzone, I think you can release it there.

Backblaze has managed to upload 110GB so far. This service is a waste of time. Closing the account and uninstalling the client...

I appreciate the offer, but it's probably not worth caring about. I'm not having issues with any sites other than Backblaze and Amazon - Google is littered with complaints about slow Backblaze upload speeds and there's no avoiding Amazon's 4GB file size limit. Both services simply aren't what I'm looking for. The lack of info about active Amazon uploads is infuriating too.

In general CW is blazing fast for me and they're hosting my fibre line too, so not keen to move away. Also dig their live chat support. And the 6pm uncapped thing is critical for my connection now that it's 100Mbps.

I looked around but didn't spot anything. I guess they need to be hosting your line.

@ Bryn

I'm sure I remember with the free accounts get locked to the tel number you used first. If it's not in clientzone then I think you have to ask support to release the line.

Thanks. I'll open a support ticket.

Hmmm, total death on my CW just now, anyone else having an issue? Will jump on support in a minute.

Where did you read about Amazon's file size limit? I have 100GB files uploaded. That sounds more like a browser file size limit to me.

No issues for me either.

It is a website limitation. If the desktop client had an easy way to specify folders you'd like synced then obviously it wouldn't be an issue, but I couldn't find a way to do that.

I had my hopes raised tremendously by Amazon Drive, as being able to store stuff in the cloud and remove the original would save me terabytes of space. Which I would only consider because files can be played within the drive interface. But uploads are super slow, files larger than 2GB must be synced and can't be played online. Such a shame.

Thanks guys. On with chat but I wonder if it's not another KZN issue. All good on WA and Mweb but we'll see what support finds out.

Are you sure it's not a browser limitation? Firefox doesn't allow more than 2GB I think, only Chrome/Opera allow more than 4GB (not sure what its exact limit is)

Tried Chrome to see if the upload speed was less terrible and it wasn't. So the file size doesn't really matter at this point. Amazon's own website lists 2GB as a limitation.

My net is completely dead in kzn. Throwing out dns errors. When I connect on my backup webafrica capped account it works again. Talking to support. Please tell me the nodes aren't borked again.

Hmm, mine also went dead around 2 hours ago. Thought I ran out of bandwidth, maybe I didn't.

Sigh, so it looks like a KZN issue after all and I've just gone through factory resetting everything ..... for nothing

Afrihost support said that none of their capped DSL accounts work on fibre since they introduced their current uncapped fibre offerings.
