What is the real world speed one can expect on a 8Mb line? I was sort of expecting double than what I got on my previous 4Mb line.

Depends entirely on your line stats and stability profile after the upgrade. With each increase in speed, your line stats decrease, and therefore the DSL overhead increases. On our side 8Mbps is provisioned with maximum peak information rate (PIR) of 8Mbps. If the line can handle it, the account will obtain those speeds, but it is very rare for this to be the case as there exists overhead on every copper-based line in SA. Real world with an average line in SA, you can realistically expect between 6 and 7Mbps, but the major differentiator here are your specific line stats at the new sync...

Are you guys still having issues with Standard Bank i.e. should we still use one of the other payment methods instead?

It would be preferable at this time please. Standard Bank's new systems do not feed data like they used to into our accounting systems, so each and every payment has to be manually imported and reconciled. It's causing major headaches and is slowing down "month-end" tremendously for us...

Cool, thanks - I'll swap over to one of the other payment methods.

Still having awful latency and streaming issues. To be fair to CW, the WA is acting the same so a greater IS issue obviously at play again. 500ms on IS, 280 on Mweb.

Have you spoken to anyone on support about it, because they escalate via that channel with the appropriate data to me to then investigate and escalate on my end accordingly...

Ah crap just switched over to Standard Bank for payments after having endless issues with your Snapscan reconciliations, just can't win can I?

The only time we will ever have issues with SnapScan is when generic references are used, like Crystal Web, or ISP, or Mike, or similar. Other than that SnapScan payments are possibly the easiest to reconcile on our side...

Sorry I disagree, and too lazy to pull up the history right now. I had 2 consecutive months of notices for "late payments" and serious hoop jumping to get it sorted after using Snapscan (using 100% correct invoice reference numbers). Both occasions there were apologies and admission that it was no fault of my own (i.e. on your side). Hence my decision to do EFT's instead.

Be that as it may, I hope you can reconcile my Oct payment I did from Standard Bank this morning, without receiving notices this month.

Loving the network BTW, works as advertised.

Please drop me a PM with your email address and name and I'll try to see what went wrong here. If something isn't working as expected there I want to try to sort that out...

Please include the SnapScan QR code or link to it in the billing email. It's crap having to go find it every month.

I can confirm a minor issue in DBN at the moment. Increased latency reports from Durban and IS are busy sorting it out. Will be able to update later once I receive further confirmation but it's also impacting on international throughput from those breaking out from Durban international routes as well...

thanks a bunch, appreciate the feedback as always :)

YES!!!
And it can include amount and reference...?

Yes, yes, and yes. All ties in with major backend changes we're employing, which culminate in the portal release.

Also, new payment options and far better management thereof and integration...
