Curious on the performance on gaming and streaming for home capped. No use if those two are going to be **** and you still have to schedule your downloads.

Same here, no point in switching over if both are *** might as well just move ISP all together.

If you asked me last week I'd have said don't...performance was pretty bad.

However since Friday past things have been aces on streaming. So hoping it stays this way now.

Am I right in saying this was due to capacity issues in CT? All the way in Durban over here, and no capacity issues that I know of.

Yup.

CT capacity issue coupled with upstream provider capacity.

While streaming was affected by this, gaming has never suffered for me personally.

I am hoping it has now all been resolved.

@Archer - have you tried another news server?

my speeds and streaming gaming and downloading has been good from the start no issues

(but then i live very close to the exchange)
guess that also makes a difference

Not yet, though Friday seemed ok (75%). Saturday I used torrents (gasp) and NNTP and that went pretty well (75% overall). But Sunday the torrents were done, so NNTP only and back to 25%.

I'll try set the CW one as the only active one tonight

Still getting DDO latency spikes between 11am and 4-5pm. Funny thing is it doesn't show anything different in tests and scary thing is that when I sit with 450-550ms on CW during that time, Afrihost will only be at 295ms. Happens about 3 or 4 times a week.

Just got 14mbps to UK server for speed test.

Things are looking up for home capped guys.

I haven't run the network through the gauntlet yet, but so far I haven't seen too many issues today.

At least this ISP doesn't have a CEO that promises clarity and then just adds more smoke and mirrors on to the stage in the hope that no-one really figures out what's going on or how bad things are.

Out of interest, what package are those of us who originally signed up for the uncapped offerings (when they were the only things available) on? The R799 10Mb one specifically I wonder?

Otherwise connection has been rather shockingly bad the last 2 days (in JHB) but it's 2 bad days of 200 so I'm not throwing a hissy fit just yet.

With regards to the email that just went out about the new payment options it doesn't mention anything about SnapScan. Is this still available?

It is if you go into the link in the e-mail.
When you select payment type in it, it says "credit card (SnapScan)".

Right, but that now makes it sound like you need to snapscan the invoice, enter a username (or anything you want) where snapscan says Invoice Number and then do the declaration of payment on that form each time. I'm just going to keep using the invoice number as reference and hope for the best. Having an automated normal credit card payment would be nice though.

You may use your username: _____ if your bank allows the number of characters in the reference)
I also don't understand why I or my bank needs to care about the reference character set. Snapscan is the middle man, they should clean up the reference.

I hoped for a simple CC payment system where I register my CC in my CW portal and CW takes the money from there like takealot and loot does when I buy stuff or like WA takes the amount for the type account I have...

@CW I would love to complete the survey but since there is question about paying and if I have not paid it is a criminal offence to say I have, I can't complete the survey. I am still waiting for my invoice before I pay so should you not have sent the invoice and the survey email at the same time and not one before the other? Also, I accidentally clicked the next button so now I have committed a criminal offence without having a invoice to pay you with...

Good Morning :)

Could you PM me your Email address so I can have a look for you?

Yes. Same. It seems that survey thing is an unnecessary step if you just use the invoice number. It's easily reconcilable.

So running only the CW news server, I got around 80% line speed, which is what I consider normal. I recall there was a 100GB limit on this one though, is that still the case?
