Anyone else unable to do any windows updates? I am on capped premium and its just not working. 3 different pc's with windows 7 and 10. It's stuck on checking for updates and refuses to update. Everything else works 100%

1) often it is downloading but Windows doesn't update the GUI
2) if your DNS has changed it may be pointing to the wrong server

On our side there are no issues. I don't have any Windows updates to force though right now to test...

Haven't changed any dns settings, it's on default. The updates have been trying to run since last night.

Have you rebooted to be sure that it's not an update that requires one of the previous updates to be installed and the machine restarted first?

Because I just tested one now on another machine and the download was 100%. It's one of those things where it's either network-wide for everyone or not related to our network...

Yep, have rebooted multiple times. All three pc's are brand new windows installs. Just really weird. Will try with a backup account tonight if I get the chance.

I recently reinstalled my win7 and it took about 3 to 4 hours of "searching for updates" till it actually showed the download page. Its a normal thing for new installs.

Anybody else struggling with browsing, etc? 1.6GB game on PS4 shows 71 hours to complete download. Facebook struggling to download images. I'm in the Eastern Cape

Have you spoken to support? Because there really isn't anything up with the network on our side at all. What you're describing is the very epitome of a line, LAN, or wireless issue though rather than an ISP issue as it's across all protocols, and especially those which we do not manage at all.

And are you 100% sure that nothing is uploading in the background?

No, I haven't. Just wanted to check if anybody else were having issues. Will check tomorrow if I can pick up on anything on my network.
Thank you for the reply.

Just have a chat with support about it - they can help you identify the issue. It's certainly not on our side though. If you PM me your username I'll see if there is anything I can pick up...

I sent you a PM. Going to pass on support for now. I accept that the problem is probably somewhere on my side.

Already picked up the issue for you: someone or something is saturating your line. It's running at full line speed (no shaping) and has been since 1pm today. So unless you have some QoS on your router it's going to saturate the line itself - hence everything else feeling slow.

It's also uploading at full line speed so almost certainly torrent traffic that's unabated...

Could a game upload at full-speed as well? Specifically WarThunder (PS4) Or did the upload run all afternoon as well?

Well we unshape it. So it all depends on how you're downloading it and how that service specifically treats downloads. If it uses your connection to peer the download to others then absolutely, yes. In terms of answering which services operate how, that's something you'll have to ask of the specific service provider in question though...

Thank you.
I thought you were on meds.

Disabling wifi is how I found out :)

Everything is still running like a damn champ on my side.

Love it when things just damn well work the way they should.
