Techs received the new hardware at 9am this morning. They're no on-site with Telkom helping them replace and test the hardware. ETTR is midday today, but as soon as I get notice (and am not in a meeting or en-route) I'll update you guys...

Service should be back to normal in the Cape regions. All equipment replaced and all bandwidth back on stream now...

Why are you looking at business accounts? Is it for work, or for home use?

Used for business at three sites. Also used after hours for personal stuff.

I want no shaping of any protocols. Therefore I am interested in the Business Capped Premium.

My bump is to get clarification on what the standard vs the premium has as there is missing info on the premium page, e.g. 0:00-6:00 data.

It's not missing info. It's not there because there is no free midnight dat on business premium. It takes the absolute highest network priority and therefore operates effectively uncontended.

If you require full speed on every protocol, all day, every day, the best bet is our business premium capped. All networks contend. All networks prioritise the contention protocols. Business premium capped is different because it does no such thing...

Ah I see. That's a pity. Would have suited us even if the 0:00-6:00 was contended but the rest of the day not.

Dunno if just a blip but CW is dead my side. Dialed into the Mweb quickly to post this. Zero traffic.

Edit - yep, was just a little couple minutes blip, it's back for now :)

Was planned maintenance in KZN last night:

23 Ocotber 2015 - 00:01 (KZN PLANNED MAINTENANCE)
Crystal Web customers in KZN may experience higher latency and/or packet loss on 23 October 2015 between midnight and 2am while we perform scheduled maintenance on our KZN network and migrate services to new infrastructure. No downtime is expected, and this impact is only scheduled for a short duration in this specific window.

Hi guys what is the difference between Business Capped and Home Capped accounts.
I am planning to switch to CrystalWeb

Business capped is intended for business use. Home capped is intended for home use. I know it sounds like I'm being facetious here, but I'm not. It's really as simple as that. Home users should opt for home accounts and business users should opt for business accounts. It makes life much easier for us from a network planning perspective, and also ensures that we're not setting up backend network controllers to try to be jack of all trades but masters of none...

logged in game a couple hours ago when I had a chance, looks like that changeover worked, sweet ping in the day is back (touch wood!). Thanks for that :)

How long does it usually take telkom to upgrade linespeeds? Logged an INC with CW 8 days ago, still no linespeed upgrade.
Also, looks like I won't be able to get full 40Mbps on my line, but should be stable enough to handle 35Mbps without dropping.
Is CW able to drop the line speed if it's not stable, or will this be handled by telkom?

40Mbps upgrades require Telkom techs to switch your port over. It requires intervention at the exchange, so we're at their liberty on these. You can follow up with the team directly because trying to do this from the forum without any info is impossible for me to do. If it's not stable, Telkom's ASSIA system will resync it to a stable speed. ISPs had their access to this sort of function removed a few months ago after certain ISPs abused it while trying to blame Telkom for their own network problems...

Sweet will sign up for capped home then, only noticed you mentioned that on another page of this thread.
