I have been having huge issues just passed midnight while trying to game, I have extreme lag spikes up the thousands in ping which leads me to being unable to game at all once midnight comes around. I would love to know if anyone else is having this problem, when I run WinMTR and choosing crystalweb.co.za as a host my worst recorded is in the 4000s along with the last section spiking from 30 to 2000.
 
Was there an email that I missed about support being closed in the evenings over the December period going into the New Year? The reason for my asking is because at 21:18 I had no connection, my line had synced fine, but I could get no connection made to the Internet. So through my phone I logged a ticket and while waiting for a response I rebooted the router which brought the connection back for a couple of minutes and then the line dropped completely as in no syncing at all. I then tried the normal tricks, powering the router off for ~5 minutes and so on, all with no joy and still no response from support. At about 21:48 the line synced itself again and I have been connected ever since. What really peeves me off is that up until now I have not had a single email from CW except for the robot email saying you are ticket number x and so on.

I see at the very bottom of the website there is this little snippet of information:

December Holiday Season: All support: 8am to 5pm

Can I make a suggestion going forward? Send an email telling your customers that support in December will be limited. Also, on your ticketing system when you log a ticket outside of operating hours either include it on the portal as you are logging the ticket or in the robot email being sent with the ticket number. I left my original post before the edit as a way of showing my frustration, did a search through my gmail account and I can't find any email saying that support hours will be limited.
 
Lo and behold the issue has reappeared but support is offline. There goes my new year's eve...

Is there anyway to get support from Crystalweb today??

Both my accounts are inactive as from today. Tested a friends Webafrica account and all good.

It's the 1st. Surely that would imply a billing issue?
 
Why am I throttled at a 80Kb/s speed? Its a new month, all my steam downloads are gonna download forever at this rate!
 
I noticed this too. Not complaining though :)

It was still performing average before I left about 2 weeks ago, came home to a nice surprise. I live almost next to Tyger valley, and almost every second week, I see someone installing fiber cables close buy, think one of those cables might have just somehow got connected to our old Telkom boksie close by...
 
Glad you guys had a super time. I on the other hand I struggled to view you tube vids. I think somebody broke something or the lack of hands on deck causing the problems.
 
This is pathetic as a new customer I cant believe no one has even bothered coming back to me on my query. I never had this **** with MWEBGUY. 4GB usage and stuck on 80KB/s.. CLASSY.. Oh wait scratch that **** I'm on 5KB/s now!

Quick enough to debit R450 for a 4MB service but give me a 1/5 the speed in return!!!!!

Plus where the hell is the "Live chat support"? Its as if the whole option has been removed all of a sudden. It only has querries and Q and A bull****. And for the love of **** where the hell is my system login in details?!?! It's been like a month already and I still havent received it!

I just checked the website from my phone and at the bottom there is an option for live chat.

Yup Live chat is definitely available, I spoke to them about a package change on the 31st and it went through fine, so don't know what you're on about....

I have around R1000/1200 budget (just adsl package, leaving the line with Telkom for now)



Which package would be best ? (need this before the 25th as that is when my current ADSL will end)

I'd imagine something like this - You'll get the 12-6am free data period as well.

See what your split is between 12-6 and normal day to day. Try and get the business capped account from CW, it's pretty good.

My majority is always after 7pm as I work rough hours and only have 6 days off a month where it will be before 7pm data usage.


What is the difference between the Home Capped and Business Capped (not premium), they seem so similar and with a R50 difference in price ?

Not much as far as I can tell. I've been using Premium Capped for a few months now and can't see how the service could be improved. It's pretty spot on to what it should be. Only difference I can think of is the Business capped will have priority at all times. But streaming, gaming has been perfect at all times of the day/night.
