Just wish CW was a bit cheaper.

?

As compared to who/what? Are you making a like for like comparison?

Mweb 4MB Uncapped Premium = R539
CW 4MB Uncapped Premium = R429
Afrihost 4MB Uncapped Premium = R397 (and shaped)

Exactly.

I happily pay my current capped price for the solid ping, no shaped and great support service.

Not to bloody mention the premium news server!

Haven't checked in for a while, but everything is still running great. I'm waisting money on backup accounts that I'm not using.

My 2 cents:
Thanks again for the great service that CW provides to me on my VDSL line.
I've changed packages pretty often according to circumstances and you have been proficient, professional and patient with me throughout :)
It really does just work. That is really all any of us are looking for.
Enjoy the well-deserved accolades.

Dj have you guys thought about making a smaller capped service. Like 10gb or 20?

Anyone in Cape Town, specifically Blouberg, having issues? Youtube buffers on 480p on a 10MB Home Premium Uncapped line.

The live chat is not reflecting online, so any help is appreciated.

Very concerned... Just signed up for Crystalweb 4Mb Basic Uncapped. Upgraded my DSL line to 4Mb as well. Streaming from Filmon is now terrible. Constant buffering. I'm using the Filmon free service, which streams in SD. Streaming on my 2Mb line, using WebAfrica Home Uncapped was much better. Speedtest shows download speed of 3.4Mbps, but only after I run it a second time. First test will always show a download speed of less than 1Mbps.

Are there some Crystalweb router settings I need?

Try Google dns: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

There's certainly a localised issue we're busy investigating in the South. Will update as I am able to get more information as we're trying to isolate the issue...

Live chat is certainly online. Busy with this investigation now as it's incredibly odd...

There's an issue that's just come up in the Cape which we're busy working on. It's certainly an isolated and infrequent sort of thing. Will update as soon as I know more and/or have resolved it...

Ah. Already people here experiencing the same thing.

So far only YouTube giving me issues. Downloads from test server running full speed.

Glad the CW peeps are on it.

Appears localised to transit to the local YouTube servers from Cape Town only...

Try Google dns: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Did that, and did a ipconfig /flushdns

Speedtest ran correctly first time around.

Ping 47ms, Download 3.41Mbps Upload 0.41Mbps

Will test the streaming again later tonight.

Thanks!

And DJ, thanks for keeping us posted.

You can test everything else. It's localised to Western Cape and to YouTube only so it's not necessarily something on our network per se that's the issue. We suspect a few things and have notified the various parties for further investigation...
