Very exciting announcements!

I have a question regarding your FTTH offering. We've had Dark Fibre Africa fibre under the pavement in our street for a few years, yet we aren't able to get FTTH. Openserve have (thankfully) earmarked our area for planned fibre deployment, but I'm told they take the longest to roll out fibre (up to 6 months). Is our best bet to wait it out for Openserve, or are you able to deploy fibre to our apartment block by plugging into the Dark Fibre Africa network?

Speaking of apartment blocks...how on earth does the process of rolling out fibre to apartment blocks work? Our block is pretty old school, so I'd assume fibre would be laid alongside existing telephone wires running into our apartment, or?

I don't think I received a reply to my previous message about this. Which areas in SA can CW bring fibre to?

Also, what's that stuff about VOIP and mobile data? Do we know anything about these services yet?

We light up fibre on our end for you, from DFA and multiple other fibre network operators.

Area specific information and further details will be released next week. It will explain the process in detail. The same applies to mobile data and VOIP. The latter is very simple and requires no new devices, and mobile data we have some very exciting things happening too.

I suppose if you have a IP Phone....

Ok I'm a 10MB premium uncapped user here. How does the xtreme tth compare price wise and what is on offer in equivalent pricing terms? (if anything) Also staying in an apartment block so need to know if it's worthwhile bothering the neighbours with this :)

Exciting! I need to go change my underpants!:crylaugh:

Telkom is laying down fibre I'm my area. Are you (gulp) telling me that I may be able to get CW Fibre without having to make commitments to Telkom?

No need to answer in detail immediately - I'm happy to wait for when the full plan is revealed.

I sincerely hope that CW looked at their business plan correctly, because I can see a bunch of noobs jumping on and raping the network from 12 to 6 on a daily basis even though they would actually only watch/use 5% of the k@k downloaded.

It reminds me of these people that are 10 meals ahead and 20 k@ks behind loading their plates at an all you can eat buffet!

That is correct.

I asked the same question. Was told I could move over

Happy days.
Happy days indeed.

Being CW I hope that they'll offer an all in one migration package ie

I currently have ADSL and a Telkom landline number - I'd like everything from an end user perspective to remain the same except that I'll be on fibre (with the speed advantage) instead of copper.

(squirms with excitement)

DJ responded once to a dude saying something along the same lines - that he hoped there weren't too many sign ups for CW so he can enjoy the network. DJ said that's a load of crap. The more people join the more money they have to make their network more awesome.

So tell all your friends and family about CW and hopefully more will join.

As dit pap reen moet jy skep, boetie!

What are you gonna realistically use internet at home for during that time of day anyway? The same thing as they will be, if anything.

True, its silly to not see more people sign up. The more people the more money they make, the more they can improve on whatever. Strange concept for people, to think that more people will cause issues. If its managed correctly, then all good..

So Crystal Web or Cool Ideas on Vumatel?

100/100 package - I see CI say they use a 1:10 contention, how does CW compare?

CW all the way. They have more overseas redundancy

That is absolutely correct. The more customer we have the better we can manage the overall network contention and the better the service gets. That's a little different from the more usage we have from few customers the better it is though. But the more revenue we can push back in to the network and our new network plans the better.
