Woohoooo :)

So this is what I'm doing now thanks to CW... Telkom now upgraded my exchange to 10meg, so this costs me R125 extra... CW slashed their prices so I'm upgrading to uncapped home premium 8MB/s for R70 extra... all in all R195 I'm getting double my speed(was on 4MB/s)...

THANK YOU CW!!! :D cant wait for the other announcements and what else I can get from you guys...

Oh, just wait until the new stuff releasing next week as well. This is just the start. Next week we get crazy on some other aspects as well. ;)

With the issues in Telkom moving lines, id rather just stay where I am because sometimes they just cancel your service and I really need my internet.... I'm sure that i'll get close to around 8mb as I'm abit away from the exchange, so 8mb should suffice... but will check the stats when my line is upgraded and then decide from there...

They've fixed up that issue, Telkom. We haven't experienced a cancelled line in a long time now.

I tried for months to get my line in the holding pool. Telkom kept saying that it was there, and CW live chat kept saying that it wasn't there. I gave up eventually. Not even visiting a Telkom store helped.

If the line never went down and wasn't auto-cancelled after 30 days thereafter, it was never in the holding pool to begin with. Our guys checks directly and in real-time so if they say it wasn't there, it sounds likely. Unfortunately Telkom first line support see a system that says the order was meant to do x, y, and z, but it doesn't always mean that is what was processed.

I am very glad to see the new price I am going to pay.

Thank you for looking after the little people:crylaugh:

Oh, no doubt. I know Telkom was to blame.

Performance wise what should one expect moving from the Premium Home Uncapped product to an Xtreme Home Capped product?

Looking at the new product offerings and my past usage on Uncapped it seems I can pay roughly the same (after the price drop) on a Capped product that will last me the month, and then upgrade my line from 4mb to 8mb for, essentially, only R50p/m more that I'm paying at the moment.

Shaun said in the email that the home premium uncapped accounts are effectively unshaped, but that the term shaped would still apply in case shaping was warranted in the future.

So you should expect as least the same level of quality. As long as your cap meets your needs (bear in mind capped accounts are uncapped from midnight to 6pm every day), you won't notice a difference.

Uncapped premium has been unshaped for ages, and home capped will be too in capped hours. In open-time shaping may apply and priority is given to customers on, for example, home premium and business accounts.

Thanks. Sounds like it's worth having a look at. I'll get on it for 1st Oct.

I can always revert back to what I have at the moment, which is sufficient, but faster speeds are always a bonus :)

paradigm shift from the likes of RPM et al, massive!?

*** excel filter jobbie could have been better 'sorted' #JustSaying :-)

I gotta say that Excel extract for the products in the email is absolutely hideous.

Seriously, how hard could it have been to put in a proper table that is sorted by account type or something similar.

Shaun put it together. It would have resulted in a delay and getting the info out was more important than making it look pretty. This was intended for customers though. The PR announcements will be a little different.

My confidence in MyBB has now been restored. If you haven't seen it yet, look on the front page. Good to see everyone getting treated equally.

Lol, I was just saying.

I'm happy with the actual products, price reductions, new features, etc. :D

:)

We forget sometimes that there are normal people behind those emails - people who have been working bloody hard to get info out

Sometimes just plain 'ol positive feedback is what's appropriate
