Cyberpunk 2077

Haven't played it so can refund it. Not a fan of EGS though, yet another launcher.
As is everything these days...

want to watch tv then open netflix
want to watch something else then open hbo
want to watch something else then open appletv+
...

However, I would imagine clicking an icon isn't that hard which if I remember correctly gog galaxy tries to solve.

>cyberpunk next gen/patch 1.5 will be treated as a soft relaunch for the game. game will be renamed Cyberpunk 2077: Samurai Edition

>cdpr will do a big livestream around february to reveal the patch, the cyberpunk anime and the first expansion

>new patch features: barbershops, a garage, improved AI, transmog system, a complete rebalancing of the loot system, new UI

>the promised free dlc will be bundled in and includes 4 new weapons, new game plus, appartment customization, new gigs

>tons of small stuff like judy and panam sending you more text messages during the course of the game

>first expansion takes place in pacifica which is actually quiet huge

>you walk around and do quests in what is called the "combat zone"

>the combat zone is being fought over by two new gangs: the Bozos (violent clown psychopaths with a sick sense of humour) and a gang called Slaughterhouse (violent psychopath fascists)

>walking around the combat zone feels very inspired by the game s.t.a.l.k.e.r.

>cyberpunk will get it's own gwent like mini game, it involves going to cyberspace and controlling and collecting monster which you can send to jrpg like battles, also has multiplayer

>one of the monsters looks like the reaper, another one i saw looks like an oni

>the cyberpunk anime called Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners is made by Studio Trigger with writing and story made by CDPR themselves. it looks absolutly insane. Beautiful 2D animation that reminds me of Akira.

>another expansion is in early stages of planning but will only be released if the first expansion is a succes

Against what will it be measured? The game has already been launched, and is a matured product which has most likely already went into decline. Either it will be based on new sales with the relaunch, which is already known to be the case since the investor's call, or on positive reviews. I can't see them gate a second expansion measured against new sales. CDPR is a grown up company now, they will move teams around all the time, so I can only see them release a second expansion to promote the IP, Cyberpunk RED, or in goodwill or which I believe to be the case to monetise Cyberpunk 2077, you know, paid expansion. It would be reasonable to add an expansion to promote other works like the anime, but time will tell.

All I know is GOG is in big trouble. I see GOG has also been dropped as GWENT's promotor, so that GOG can prioritise sales, and it seems CDPR wants to take GOG back to its roots, "Good Old Gaming" because they cannot compete against the competition at the same level. The only money cow CDPR has is GWENT, so I am not surprised to see them produce a similar game in Cyberpunk's verse.

Perhaps the first test case for when it fails what really happens to my access to my library. They are practically on their way out, however, at their demise I cannot see that someone else will not buy them out like ms for even vavle.

Only thing that concerns me if GOG does go down, what happens to the games you own that requires the GOG launcher to run?

In regards to Cyberpunk, if they deliver on those patch notes and added content (free for steam?) then I may just download again.

CDPR selling Hitman III on GOG has proven that they were testing whether DRM can be adopted. It didn't go their way... I am sure that they wanted digital rights management implemented to be attractive to publishers whom have adopted gaming as a service ;)

I like GOG, but CDPR is intent on bringing in community events into their IPs, and community events are an online service. Interesting times ahead.

I think some things might be too rich, but that what was data mined is plausible.

Anyhow, this man seems to be big on NFTs... I guess CDPR introducing NFTs is a better chance than the alleged Samurai Edition. Who knows... CDPR is now running with their Steam award in their sails resulting in more positive CP2077 Steam reviews.

Watched a video about cp2077 mods the other day and the modding community is doing a good job. If cdpr released the source code (which will never happen) I reckon the modders will do a much better job than cdpr.

So what is so bad a bout NFTs? The short version while I read the white paper on it.

Nothing other than it being open to abuse.

"Good artists copy, great artists steal, extraordinary artists mint NFTs."

In my view, the current gaming virtual inventories which is unique to an ID is most similar to the proposed gaming NFTs. The change being that it is being moved to the blockchain. Valve's own Steam marketplace has been leading this charge, though it hasn't adopted the blockchain, I am sure Valve would be dabbling therein. I won't be surprised that their marketplace sellers are making such requests... having unique trading cards, amongst other virtual items, minted.

It is a monetisation vehicle which grants a passive income.

Why would it be a problem? Obviously, depends on how it is being purposed. NFTs are an online service, hence it will be a component to gaming as a service, and this service in particular will incentivise gamers to participate in a real-world economy, /cough, like the Steam Marketplace. Do expect scams, and yes, blockchain and all that, but look, people are scammed every day on the Steam Marketplace, so I am without doubt that it will happen in the NFT world.

CDPR adopts NFTs, would mean that their IP will be opening up to gaming as a service. Some people will complain others will embrace it, wake up Samurai there is money to be made. Stonks, To The Moon, yada, yada, this is the culture now. **** the rich - but hey, nothing quite like being made a Dollar millionaire through NFTs, starting a scalping business... Just pointing out some notable hypocrisy and dubious social standards.

Anyhow, I don't see anything wrong with NFTs, other than the very accessible illicit aspect to it and that NFTs amongst other new things are breeding an odd bunch. People will do anything to get rich at other's demise. All I have to say about NFTs, and it is here to stay, it is better supported than opponents may think.

In any case, thanks for the reply. I've gone over this + the/a white payer.

I've heard a lot of youtubers bang on about NFT's being bad for the environment. Apparently very bad for the environment the way they go on about it.
How does that work?

Carbon this, carbon that. Ethereum took the position that this consumption will be optimised with PoW. There are others like Tezos, Symbol and Polygon which is apparently very light on energy consumption. As with all these carbon or global warming opponents, I am sure there are many with mining rigs running 24/7, so yeah... Anyhow, I made a dedicated thread,

Cyberbang 2069 Is A Cyberpunk 2077 Inspired Dating Game Approved By CDPR

Cyberbang 2069 (yes, you read that right) is a dating game with plenty of sauce thrown in, and which is available in SFW and NSFW versions. Created by a small team known as Triple Thirst, the female-led devs have conjured up a visual novel. TheGamer downloaded Cyberbang 2069 in the name of research and gave it a whirl, clicking through different dialogue options as we tried to win the admiration and affections of Arasaka ninja Sandayu Oda.

Cyberbang 2069 has also been sanctioned by CDPR, with the Polish studio giving the project its blessing of a kind. The game's description reads: "A FREE, UNOFFICIAL fan project made with express permission from, and not endorsed by, CD Projekt Red." Triple Thirst clearly asked the developer for the okay in order not to be shut down. And members of the CDPR team seem quite into the fan-made project.
